Apparently he wanted to play in Montreal because his father is dying of cancer and he wanted to play in front of his family in his home province for potentially the final time. Hard to blame him.

Good to know, I hadn't heard any of this. At the time, I thought it was odd since of all the Bs main players, he had been sitting out for rest the most in final couple of weeks of the season, but this info certainly clarifies why he suited up for that particular game.

Hockey is more of a team sport than most sports, but it's tough to watch the impact his absence is having. He really is the glue of the team.

He absolutely hates the Habs though (grew up in the Quebec City region and I guess never got over the hatred as a family of Nordiques fans), so while there is actual respect, there's always that little reminder that he's fully the enemy....
