The New York Islanders took care of their business Saturday, announcing extensions for star goaltender Ilya Sorokin, netminder Semyon Varlamov, defenseman Scott Mayfield, and forward Pierre Engvall.
Sorokin signed an eight-year extension beginning in 2024-25 with an average annual value of $8.25 million, reports Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
Varlamov, Engvall, and Mayfield were all unrestricted free agents.
Engvall inked a seven-year pact with a reported cap hit of $3 million. The financial terms for Varlamov and Mayfield are unknown, but the former signed for four years and the latter penned a seven-year pact.
More to come.
