NHL Thread Because There Isn't An NHL Thread

Hmmm...this is interesting 🤔

Although the 2020-21 season was an unconventional one, there's one aspect of the campaign players want to keep.

According to the results of the 2020-21 NHLPA Player Poll released on Thursday, 66.3% of players are in favor of keeping series-style schedules. The mini-series were added specifically for the condensed season, but players clearly enjoyed the benefits of less travel and more rest.

However, the biggest change of the 2020-21 season, the temporary realignment, did not go over well with the players. Among 447 votes, 68.2% said they didn't want to see regional divisions moving forward. Fortunately for the majority, the NHL is aiming to return to the normal Atlantic, Metro, Central, and Pacific Divisions next season.

So they'd go back to the normal divisions BUT they'd schedule two or three games at a time? So for example the Bolts would head to Boston for a Thursday Saturday Monday series for example?

Thanks Vegas for having 18,000 fans in your building, many without masks, from a state with less than a 50% 1 dose vaccination rate. Very fucking classy.
Is this on relations to this?

Montreal Canadiens head coach Dominique Ducharme is isolating at home due to "irregularities" in his COVID-19 testing, the club announced Friday, according to TSN's John Lu.

Ducharme will undergo more tests during the day.

The team confirmed Friday that Ducharme has been vaccinated twice, according to Sportsnet's Eric Engels. The 48-year-old received his second dose June 9 along with the rest of the Canadiens who chose to get it.

Game 3 of the Stanley Cup semifinal between Montreal and the Vegas Golden Knights is scheduled for Friday night. The series is tied 1-1. If Ducharme can't lead his club in Game 3, assistant coaches Alex Burrows and Luke Richardson would be the likely candidates to replace him.

The Canadiens named Ducharme the team's interim head coach upon firing Claude Julien in February. They went 15-16-7 after Ducharme took the reins, finishing fourth in the North Division. Montreal then upset the Toronto Maple Leafs in seven games during the first round of the playoffs before sweeping the Winnipeg Jets.

Yes. I'm not bitter.

(Report from Dreger is the 2nd test is positive too and he's out for 10 days, but not confirmed by the team or the NHL yet)

I guess this isn’t surprising. Hopefully it’s a false positive. Maybe they can rig something so that Ducharme can hang out somewhere and wire whoever is coaching and they can communicate.

See above - apparently, he was positive on the 2nd test too, but it's not official yet.
