NHL Thread Because There Isn't An NHL Thread

You don't like Gretz shooting muffins at Barkley?

I thought "well that was a hot mess" was kinda the general ethos for all TNT halftime/intermission shows... I think it's pretty much their goal
Not being a basketball guy, TNT has never been on my radar, so I guess that tracks.

Bisonette was a weird choice too, I assume he knows someone. That guy can barely read a line for a 30 second liquor spot, not sure why putting him on a live studio show seemed like a good plan. I use to watch a lot of NBCS in-studio stuff, but even for me this TNT stuff feels very skippable. More time for snacks!

The New York Islanders have inked defenseman Ryan Pulock to an eight-year contract extension worth approximately $50 million, reports TSN's Darren Dreger.

It includes a full no-trade clause in the first five years and a limited one over the final three, Dreger adds.

Pulock was a pending unrestricted free agent. He's in the final season of a two-year pact carrying a $5-million cap hit, according to CapFriendly.

The 27-year-old plays on the Islanders' top pairing alongside Adam Pelech; New York signed Pelech to an eight-year extension with a $5.75-million average annual value in August.

Pulock - who's known more as a shutdown defender than for his offense - posted two goals and 15 assists while averaging a career-high 22:27 of ice time and playing all 56 games last season. He's in his seventh campaign with the Islanders, who drafted him 15th overall in 2013.
