Awesome! Beck on the Odelay tour was my first concert ever my freshman year of High School...Day 19 - I miss concerts
Beck "Odelay" (1996 DGC/Bong Load Music; 2016 VMP club reissue)
One show I remember fondly is Beck at the now defunct Spectrum in Montreal in 1996. The show was at this small 500 people venue, shortly after "Odelay!" was released but before Beck blew-up. His next show in Montreal less than a year later would be at the 20,000 seat Bell Centre.
Beck came out dressed in this goofy sailor suit, did his nerdy dances, played some more folky numbers and was completely weird. Well, maybe not as weird as the Pizzicato Five that opened for him. There was this energy in the air throughout the show - you could tell this was something special and that Beck was destined for something big.

Opener was supposed to be The Roots too but they had some issue had to be replaced, we ended up with Califone instead, and Atari Teenage Riot. Regardless it was an fucking great show.
My first concert I was supposed to be The Smashing Pumpkins on their Infinite Sadness Tour in 96 (with Garbage as the opener)...

Day 19: I Really Miss Concerts
I miss the feeling of community & celebration you get at concerts - the Flaming Lips do that as good as anyone. First saw them in 2003 on the Yoshimi tour, and a number of times since. The pic below is from the last time I saw them in 2017 and capture that celebratory mood.
Flaming Lips ~ American Head
Flaming Lips ~ May 7, 2017 - Observatory North Park San Diego, CA
I once wrote a review for a newspaper of Reading Festival (2003?) and when I woke up in the morning after to start writing I saw I had notes on watching Beck but I had absolutely no memory whatsoever of seeing him #wastedSince this is turning into a "When did I see Beck" day, first time I saw him was in 2003 with the Black Keys opening.
First concert - Jackson 5 Victory tour at Dodger Stadium in 1984. Can still remember the waves of bass rolling across the field.
