Some additional info:
  • The red price sticker on the front is part of the box art, it isn't an actual price tag
  • The box comes with a "Reel" describing the 5 Leaves Left mastering
  • The box included a nice little booklet
  • Included faux "written" lyrics of a couple songs
  • The gatefold jacket and album are in the box set.
We'll have to see how it sounds ;)

Not sure if its the same series (I believe it is as its almost identical) but I picked up the Nick Drake - Pink Moon Box a few years ago now. Someone was selling it online for £20 an I assumed it would be missing bits but it was complete. Really nice package, but I would of actually preferred Five Leaves Left, its always been my favourite album by Nick Drake.

Still a deal at this price but it's been dropping all over recently so a month or so ago I checked out the reviews at a few places and it's def. underwhelming outside of the great packaging. They supposedly do not sound nearly as good as the originals and are very flat and quiet. This is huge for anyone that actually wants to use them in a jukebox as they will be much more quiet then the majority of the other singles you have. Most people that buy this that don't plan on using it inside a jukebox though are probably fine with it as it's more of a novelty, collector's piece then something they're going to spin all the time especially at the low current prices. Just a heads up as it made me pass when looking more into it.

remember a month or so ago when they had a bunch of “free” albums ($10 each shipping) in the udiscover store? Well, I had decided to grab one other album with my order just because it seemed like a good deal at the time:

And it wasn’t this fancy box set version either. I’m not mad or anything, but I also kind of feel like I don’t really want to buy anything from that store unless it’s “free” from now on.

Haha! I don't know, I'd almost rather buy from them when the prices are (relatively) low and the shipping is free!

Good point - i’ve had much better luck ordering tone poets from them than from the actual blue note site.

Blue Note sent me the wrong Lee Morgan Tone Poet recently and I emailed them about it 2 weeks ago. Someone responded a day or two later and asked me to send pictures of the incorrectly shipped album to prove it before they will send me a shipping label to send it back. I sent the pictures over a week ago. The next day, another person from blue note reaches out with the same message asking me to send pictures. I replied to them that I already sent pictures to someone else, so I think that first person is already working on it. The second person responds last wednesday that they didn’t realize someone else was working on it, and they apologize for the confusion and say they’re going to rush this through for me. Today, I get a response from the first person saying that they’re still processing the label that they’re going to send me so I can eventually return the record and once they’ve verified that the record I sent it was the wrong one, they’ll send the right one.

Agreed. I preordered Money Jungle from the Blue Note website in early March and it's on an inexplicable production delay and has a new ship date in two more weeks but who knows if that will even happen. Customer service has offered me nothing in respose and would not explain why ordering direct from the site as a preorder would be delayed, yet, as you all know, copies are readily available online at retail and record stores.

lol I actually placed my order in mid-march, and the whole thing was held up because I’d preordered “money jungle”, which was then delayed another couple of weeks beyond the stated shipping date.
