Online Vinyl Deals

my desktop browser , firefox, does not show links from that shop either.
I've noticed this on a few posts recently as well. I'm using Chrome and thought it was maybe my ad blocker or something. Guess it's just Amazon being a big ol' rascal.

It's really strange because it just shows a big black blank space and nothing you can even blindly click.

Since we are on devil's company: I put two orders on Amazon Japan and US the same day. Both shipped partially the next day.

Amazon JP:
- Left Tokyo to Honk Kong on 11/16
- Left Hong Kong to Koln, then Brussels, then Paris on 11/17
- Out for delivery today

Amazon US:
- Package shipped from an unknown place on 11/15
- Arrived in New-Jersey on 11/16
- Left another location in NJ to an unknown place on 11/17
- Not out for delivery

The NJ hub is really screwed up still. Anything that ships to me that goes through there takes way longer to arrive to me and I’m in NY.

No hurries but still crazy to compare how a same company in two different countries deals with shipment process. I ended receiving my Japanese package one hour or two after I wrote this post.

Yea can’t say I’m shocked to be honest! USPS is a mess particularly during the current administration here. Plus mail has been incredibly backed up in the US at all major sorting hubs since March. Even at my local post office, their staffing is down due to COVID. Just out of curiosity I looked it up and the US is having almost as many cases of COVID per day now than all of Japan has had since March.

I have ordered things to be shipped and gotten them within 2 days. Other times it has taken 32 days. I have completely forgotten that I ordered something and all of a sudden see it in my mailbox a month later haha. And here Amazon has their own delivery service now so even on Sundays there are Amazon vans around delivering stuff. Pretty crazy!

On the opposite, Amazon Japan uses DHL Express and they have been super efficient. Ella Records, in Japan too, shipped me a box a couple of months ago and it took 2 or 3 days only. Jazz Messengers are using DHL Express to ship packages to the US and not only it's cheap but also super fast.

The Zavvi DeAgostini box I bought also used DHL and it arrived from Europe within 3 or 4 days. The box was completely opened...but I think that was more on Zavvi than DHL. I feel like nobody really uses DHL here

I'm curious about what kind of vinyl deals you've found on amazon.jp. I've never checked out the Japanese site before, nor have I seen mention of deals on it in this thread. Thanks in advance for any insight.

I haven't searched it for deals on it really, but I have ordered from them before (I got the Khruangbin exclusive japanese compilation on there). The box arrived to the US in absolutely wrecked condition but somehow the record was okay.

No deals, only stuff that cannot be found anywhere else. I've tried different Japanese sellers (HMV, CdJapan, Amazon) and Amazon appears to be the best option for me. I always have high custom fees with HMV. CdJapan are really fine but it takes quite a while before I receive my package (they mostly use Japanese Post). Amazon charges an estimated custom fees upfront so you don't have nothing else to pay, they have a great stock and it never took more than a week to receive my orders.

Not usually into Popmarket deals, but this Chet Baker Riverside Reissue bundle is worth checking out: " All four albums were cut from the original analog master tapes by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio and pressed on 180-gram vinyl."

I believe these are the same pressings from the Riverside box which is awesome. Pop Market has had some great deals lately. I got the Coltrane AS reissues for a great price from them. And free shipping too I believe.

with the UD situation i've had everything that wasn't a pre-order delivered since early last week, except the 5 LPs i ordered that are from the Blue Note 80 series those were in-stock and should've shipped out already.no shipping info on those yet received anyone have a similar situation like that waiting on those BN 80 series albums to ship out?
Apparently there is a backorder on the Hubtones. If you had that in your order, it will hold them all up. I just told them to cancel that one and ship everything else out.

This seems like the most relevant place to ask this.

Ordering from Bull Moose, when there is an album that says “Out of stock. We will try and get this for you.” How successful do you think they’ll be in getting me an album? I recently ordered 4 LPs of current 2020 releases, standard black, nothing fancy. But 2 of the 4 said they are currently OOS.

the only other time that a record marked as “Out of stock. We will try and get this for you.” was not successful was because I tried ordering a very, very rare album back in 2016 and didn’t know it would have been impossible to get. I normally only do pre-orders from them and usually don’t deal with stock issues like this.
