Don't get Diamond Dogs.... Get box 2. Gouster is immense!
Do you mean the Who Can I Be Now box? I've seen that one a bunch but skipped out since I'm not the biggest fan of live albums in general and I kinda remember there being a lot of live albums on there.

It has two versions of David Live and both mixes of Station to Station in which is a bit of a piss take but Diamond Dogs, Station to Station, Gouster and Young Americans are all staples. Gouster is seriously good. And the ReCall in there is brilliant. Bowie singles ahoy. I'm not sure what it costs in the states but before Christmas it was going over here for about £120 (which is about half what I paid for the damn thing)

I was gunna buy Hunky Dory and Ziggy but the fact that there is now an identical 2020 repress of Ziggy but with different matrix that is apparently digital and there's no way to tell without opening it to see if it's the 2016 or not means fuck it I'm out. Too much work.

Come to the Bowie rabbit hole, come join us.

As I mentioned to @Mather a while back, get the 2nd and 3rd boxset if you can. Then just get Hunky and Ziggy and you have more than you will need if you don't want to delve deeper. As for the live stuff from the 2nd and 3rd boxset, if you don't like them you can sell them as to shave a bit off the box prices.

The two boxes also have The Gouster and the Visconti remix of Lodger, both are excellent (and necessary I think) and neither are available individually.

But you really do need them all, including Let's Dance, Outside and Blackstar.

Anyone have major issues with quality of shipping from Popmarket? I want to order the Petty Anthology from them since Amazon just shipped one to me in a soft plastic mailer and nothing else. Needless to say I need to return that one. Popmarket has it for much less so I’m skeptical, so any guidance would be appreciated.

Popmarket's shipping is fine, never had any damage. I've had up to 3 lps in an order before and it was packed perfectly fine. It's usually been in a thin cardboard mailer inside another cardboard mailer or corrugated cardboard envelope.

Might be sacrilege, but ya don't need all of them. I think Ziggy Stardust and Hunky Dory are must have Bowie albums so I have picked up those recently. But then I picked up Pinups and Aladdin Sane.....and probably picking up Low and Diamond Dogs soon. Shit....i've gone down the rabbit hole without even realizing.

STATION TO STATION!!!!

I’m a big fan BUT that is the one that’s essential. Hunky Dory, Ziggy and Low would indeed be the other 3 for a beginner.

But for me I think that every album from Hunky Dory to Let’s Dance is a nailed on classic that is essential.

Here's a Bowie discography if you want a ton of Bowie:

Skip the first album. Buy everything he releases from his second self titled aka Space Oddity through "Heroes" while skipping Pin ups.

Thats all you need really.

Scary Monsters is an awesome album! And let’s dance with Nile!

I’d take both of those over Space Oditty and The Man Who Sold The World.

That said I’d rather all 4...

I haven’t had issues! Pretty standard shipping packaging. Nothing incredible but packed well and didn’t have damage last time I ordered from them.
