Don’t get me wrong, don’t sit in silence and make sure to criticise but damn it if they’re not a very different party fighting a very different election next time around then you really are in trouble.
 
There are parts of West Texas that are an utter hellscape. We once drove from Dallas to Van Horn so we could go to the Guadalupe Mountains National Park, Carlsbad Caverns, and White Sands NP. The stretch of I-20 around Midland to Monahans is just incredibly bleak. Natural gas wells with flames at the top, red dirt everywhere that kicks up into the air to make the sky blood red, temporary housing everywhere for all the people who want to try to make their money off the land, and the overproduction all around. When you finally get out of that hell hole and emerge at the foot of the mountains, you've really earned that beautiful vista after the utter mess you just made it through. My mother grew up in Snyder and my grandfather who died before I was born was an oil well worker. I can't imagine growing up there.

Time will take care of Trump. Trump could take care of Elon pretty quickly which is the better thing in the long run for our country. Musk is high on his own supply (Twitter). He thinks he can run policy. It has to bother even some MAGA politicians.

Most the mega donors shy away from the spotlight. One being this overtly involved in the public discourse is gonna rub some the wrong way but when all is said and done they’ll likely deal with it as long as the money keeps flowing.
 
Ha. Trump already got shit on by Republicans in the House and Senate. No government shutdown. No debt increase. No issue for Trump and Musk to try to play off as the fault of the Democrats.
