Political Discussion

Sure but what progress has been made to sell the company away from Bytedance which is the only way it's allowed to get the 90 day extension? As far as I knew, they've had no discussions about selling and would just let it go dark. This all feels like a setup to make Trump the hero who saved Tik-Tok for the youth, all the while being the person who also called for it to be banned until the CEO started to cozy up to Trump.

Would an executive order be considered execution of the law or would it be different?

That’s the Executive’s role, making sure laws passed are executed, he can definitely decide not to enforce it but at any moment if he changes his mind he could decide to enforce it and the companies making the app available would be fucked. The reason that legal weed shops are strictly an all cash business is because on a federal level weed is illegal and even if a president says it’s not gonna enforce it no bank will ever consider talking in weed money directly because at any time if a POTUS decided to sic the DEA on them they could basically seize/shut down the financial institutions on RICO charges.
