Trump used strong words today targeted as business leaders to manufacture products in the United States or pay tariffs.

However, it's still cheaper to manufacture products in other countries. I have from people I know, such as my mother, that their company isn't even considering bringing manufacturing back to the United States. That's a non starter, as it still will be more expensive than tariffs.

The plan is to pay tariffs and pass the costs along to consumers. And if another country becomes cheaper than China do to tariffs, move manufacturing there.

This all reeks of someone who has no idea how anything works, or has worked for the past few decades.

Okay, so when the cost of building a factory, paying workers like 5-10x more per hour are added to the product, who pays for that?

Okay, so when farmers have to pay 5-10x more to pick the fruit you eat are added to the product, who pays for that?

Right, thanks a lot Joe Biden for ruining the economy through Trump’s policies. This is the problem when you have people born on third base making the decisions. It's all a drop in the bucket for them. All the little folk are going to feel this, and it's hard to make them actually care.

Looking back at history, this is how revolutions, and the eventual public executions of the ruling class starts. I have zero faith that people aren't complacent enough to take to the streets.

Even if that were true, he doesn't understand how things work. Things are not going to become more affordable. Everyone down the supply chain is just going to have a better profit margin. They aren't just going to magically lower prices to match their savings.
