Pre-Order Thread

I hear what you're saying and you make a good point, so the opposite approach would be a default of assuming you do not want to cancel the order, and I have seen other retailers take that approach by sending an email about a delay, apologizing, and offering the option of canceling the order; no response leaves the order in place. Interesting point as well about it only ever happening with items purchased at a sale price. Truth is, I wouldn't really have any point of comparison because I don't know that I've ever ordered a record from Target that wasn't on sale! But I can say that I've ordered many, many sale records, and I think I've only ever had one of them canceled. It would be interesting to know how often it happens, and based on posts in this thread, my hunch is that it's limited to pre-orders for which they sell more than the stock they eventually are able to get. Has anyone ever had a cancellation for an in-stock sale item?
Well my whole questioning was it said I had till April 25th then they would cancel. They didn’t even give me a chance to keep or cancel and to me that is bs.

Agreed. The system they have in place is one thing, but ignoring it and just canceling your item is another, and shouldn't happen. Or if they want to cancel your item, they should just send you an email telling you that's what they've done, which would still suck, but wouldn't have that stink of saying one thing and doing another.

Speaking of Target and canceling orders....

I was curious about the cancellation I experienced and wanted to see the details, so I searched my email using the search terms 'Target' and 'cancel.' Kind of startling to see the word 'cancel' lit up like a Christmas tree through a long, long string of emails informing me that I'd "successfully canceled an item from your order" as part of multiple BTGOF sales. The advantage here is clearly on my side of the ledger.

Its a give and take. What Target giveth, Target can taketh away.

Dead.net can be really slow to ship. And most of the time it is UPS Mail Innovations, which is the hell that takes the worst parts of UPS and USPS and mixes them together.

Lol so I sent the Grateful Dead Store an e-mail about it, and they just sent me the same tracking number that I already had and the link to the ups tracking website [yep, thanks, I know how to look up tracking numbers] and said that it shipped and they don't have any more information. The UPS website says "if it has been several days since the label was created, contact the sender to confirm that the package was picked up."

I just sent the dead store another e-mail with that information. I guess I can always file a paypal claim if I have to.

You'll get your stuff, just probably a month from now.

I've ordered from them a bunch and their CS is fine with replacements, but they are as slow as molasses in the best of times.

Am I missing something? I got the email went to my order and it’s already canceled? This was part of the deal. Now I’m going to have to pay full price? They’re asking me to reorder it.
This happened to me for 5-6 records on the last one. My understanding is that you can contact customer service. It was disappointing...
