I'll try to do an A/B testing later! Mine definitely doesnt sound like its being played down a distorted phone line though hah.

Yeah in an NPR podcast he discussed this. I think it was cut , or was being cut at the time, he did say something though admitting that 45 RPM is "overkill". What's interesting about Kevin is he's been really smart about the remasters, he didnt do gimmicky (at least not yet) blu ray discs for example. I feel like 45 RPM could happen but also, if it doesn't or takes another 69 years, it's the norm at this point if you like MBV
 
For two additions, I wonder if it’s a rights issue. If somehow the AAA cut is tied up but the hi-res is a new transfer or some sort of loophole that gets them around some other issue.

He self released the AAA cut in 2018 though which was why it was such a small run. It’d be weird if his management managed to confuse the matter so much with tapes he owns and has the rights to himself 😂
