Thank you so much for this. It's been over a year since they first teased Sinking Feeling.

Brooklyn Vegan is originally a magazine or blog, right? So they are in the vinyl game with exclusives like this one. Do people think this a phenomenon that might catch on, in terms of publications offering exclusive vinyl? I mean maybe it's already a thing and I just haven't been paying close enough attention.

I think once Cracker Barrel started doing exclusives it became a free for all for any entity that wants to can release an Exclusive vinyl.

I know Paste, for a while did this with exclusive samplers. I think only a couple to vinyl (mostly CDs) but it's possible. I know Billboard had a Flexi Disc exclusive for Dua Lipa. So, I bet we could see it, though I imagine that it'd be hard with production lead times for traditional magazines unless they have a story in the works to align to.

(As an aside, that sampler is darn good for its dirt cheap price)

Uncut and Mojo magazines have been doing exclusive stuff for a while, though as far as I know mostly vinyl versions of some of the tribute comps they've commissioned/compiled.
I have a ton of old Uncut and Mojo cd comps. I loved the ones based on a theme (funky soundtracks, Nick Cave influences). I think they did a few where an entire album would be covered (Sticky Fingers and Power, Corruption and Lies both come to mind)

I've got a few as well and really enjoy them. Favourite so far is probably Mojo's Songs of Leonard Cohen Covered which I bought on Discogs a few years ago. I keep checking my local magazine shop for the new Uncut, as well, which has a new Dylan tribute comp. Seems those British mags hit newsstands quite a bit later over on this side of the pond, unfortunately.
Highway 61 Revisited Revisited is one of my faves from both mags.
After I saw you post about that, I bought a whole bunch off Discogs this past weekend, including this one! Really looking forward to it, Blonde on Blonde Revisited and Harvest Revisited, especially.

Revolver magazine opened a digital storefront a couple years ago: started getting exclusives of Metal and Punk albums. Last year or this year they opened up identical webstores for all their subsidiaries (BKvegan, invisible oranges, etc). Same products, different banner. Still churning out some GREAT metal exclusives.

Not sure if it was mentioned and I’m too lazy to dig too far back. But a limited “Birchwood” colored version of Guy Clark’s “Some Days the Song Writes You” is up for preorder at Magnolia.

Great album, but getting a little sick of the Sony-level price tags at $27.

This would have been a great ROTM.

That Dylan UNCUT issue is listed as the June 2021 issue- my store just had The Who issue, now stocking the VU one, so I would guess in a couple weeks the Dylan one will show up. I'm dying for that covers comp...The Flaming Lips, Courtney Marie Andrews, Cowboy Junkies, The Weather Station, Low, Thurston Moore, Richard Thompson and Weyes Blood doing Dylan? fuuuuuuck

Yeah, magazine issue "months" are usually way ahead of actual linear-time months, but the Uncut site says it's on British newsstands a while ago. I'm assuming the same, that it'll show up in a few weeks here.
