Debut Album from Sampa The Great

Just wanna give this a bump as the singles so far have been 🔥🔥🔥🔥:

"On “The Return” Sampa has enlisted a string of esteemed collaborators and peers to create the album. Mixed by Jonwayne (of Stones Throw notoriety), MsM (Skepta/Boy Better Know) and Andrei Eremin (GRAMMY-nominated engineer for Hiatus Kaiyote and Chet Faker), productions are by Silentjay, Slowthai producer Kwes Darko, Clever Austin (Perrin Moss of Hiatus Kiayote), Blue Lab Beats and Syreniscreamy. The album also features collaborations with Ecca Vandal and London jazz collective Steam Down."

Yooo Sampa is great and even through prices are in GBP, its looking like just over $40 for the bundle+shipping which is GREAT

At least judging by the singles so far, do you think you'll like the new album better? I feel like most people that hated 22, a million hated the vocal effects and those don't seem to be present (certainly not to the same degree) on the new one. If you want acoustic instruments though instead of the new production style, you may feel the same way.
Just listened to them. Its alot more bearable for me. I could see myself enjoying the album if its similar to the singles. Yes the vocal manipulation really annoyed me too but i am enjoying what i listened to so far.

DSVII
is said to draw heavy influence from early videogame soundtracks, '80s sci-fi/fantasy films, and synth icons Suzanne Ciani, Mort Garson, Brian Eno and John Carpenter.

Gonzalez reflected on the album's genesis with the following statement:

During the summer of 2017, I spent five months in Cap d'Antibes, France. I mainly spent my time swimming in the Mediterranean sea, reading, watching films and playing '80s videogames. The inspiration behind this record is mainly videogame music. It felt so refreshing to play all of these old-school games again. There is something so naive and touching about them. It's simple and imperfect. And this is exactly what I tried to achieve with DSVII

YES PLEASE!

Always in for some Japanese ambient and never heard of this label before! Looks like this will be their second vinyl release, though they’ve released some ESP-Disk titles on cassette. Their first vinyl one was a Japanese dub album here: https://personalaffairbk.bandcamp.com/album/rhythm-matter

Only one left because I bought one of the last two
