Pre-Order Thread

For those who were looking for those Khruangbin remix 12”:

We know some of you have seen our secret 12" releases that we put out over the past couple of months. We didn't mention them on purpose, because we wanted to honor the tradition of vinyl, electronic music, limited pressings, and to support local record stores. We pressed 2000 of each of the five 12" releases and they were available in stores only. We did hold back a few, which we'll be in touch about soon. <3

With the 12s now released and found we can proudly share the remix album which features all the 12" tracks collated onto one, double-LP release. Front cover artwork is by Marko, inner sleeve artwork by Paula Duro, and sketches of each remixer by Laura Lee. Sleeve notes written by Bill Brewster, who not only lends us the weight of his musical knowledge and the craftsmanship of his words but as one half of Mang Dynasty he also gifted us a remix on the release.

Each Artist on Mordechai Remixes has a musical or personal connection to us, each invited to this release through personal friendship and mutual admiration.
We would never lightly place our music in anyone else hands, this is our own personal curation of those we most trust. We hope you enjoy the remixes and explore the catalogs of everyone who contributed.

Anyone know if the remixes are worth getting the album? Also, doesn’t look like the link is live yet.

Someone convince me I don't need this...
If you don’t want all of them, they also have options for “The Early Years”

And “The Merge Years”

Yea—weirdly the Khruangbin fan club sent that link out but it’s not live. I haven’t heard the remixes but I know a bunch of folks here purchased the singles

I don't like moderation or your reasonable alternative.

Yeah noticed that after, my bad.

I think they would wide press this one too. For what I recall the prior release also had a white label private press.
They used the same process to release their first record. Produced a limited autographed/custom cover 50-run private press that they sold at live gigs that now goes for hundreds on the used market, followed by a wider distribution generic black vinyl release through their Bandcamp once word of mouth and their popularity ramped up. I'm sure the private press of the second record is a nod to how they started with their first record with a wider distribution to follow.

The Lorde is definitely a big we'll see. Not that she was huge on the variations on the last two albums so maybe she won't, but the vinyl world has changed since Melodrama as has she.

If chocolate brown is the only non-webstore U.S. Variant, it's a fascinating business decision.

Speaking of fascinating business decisions,

I just learned that the standard vinyl only has 12 of the albums 14 tracks. This includes all colored variantes.

That's a rarity you don't really see these days. They usually produce these with all the album tracks.

Use the code SUMMER25 for 25% off on this. I don't know why, but this was also free shipping for me. Total price $23.84 shipped!

Well it looks like the deluxe version comes with a 7" picture disc that contains those extra tracks, so that makes sense. The album itself only has 12 tracks.

It was one of the biggest reasons I sprung for the deluxe so, well, it worked on me.

At least the option is available to get those tracks, unlike a certain pop mastermind who likes to exclude tracks from any vinyl pressing for the chaos (CARLY RAE I'M LOOKING AT YOU).

no im not bitter

I have all but the first 12" single and I really enjoy all the remixes I have heard! I'll be ordering the full album so I have them all in one collection.
