Pre-Order Thread

I'm curious about this discussion regarding Newbury and some splatter vinyl not looking like the mock-up as justification for replacement/refund/etc. Isn't there a disclaimer somewhere when you purchase about how the product you receive might not look like the mock-up. I'd be curious to know what that exact language is, bc knowing the details of this wording would be crucial for anyone hoping for a replacement based on this point. I've had some records that do not match the description but I've never gone the route of attempting a replacement, assuming it would be an uphill battle against a strongly worded disclaimer. Curious what folks experiences have been on this front.
I don't doubt there will be, but Im guessing most places who want repeat business would use a bit of common sense if you get a copy which looks a bit shitty rather than changing the mock up to a low quality example of the actual press to avoid complaints

Thanks for the extra info, that makes more sense. Newbury has done this before, the Sonic Youth Goo pressing comes to mind. People were complaining that it was not a swirl pink but instead a solid pink, and they just switched out the stock photo without a hint of an announcement. Sketchy.
I actually hadn't realised they changed the mock up, and they gave me a 20% off coupon when I pointed it out. So I guess that's something

$35 before shipping, oof.

EDIT: Just saw this is a 3xLP... That seams reasonable...

I know we talk about Soul Step releases in detail in the Soul Step Vinyl Club thread, but we wanted to share our upcoming release here as well.

The place where Soul & Country meet…

A year ago, Soul Step Records released the album “Soul of Cash” from St. Louis soul singer Brian Owens. Shortly after, the entire run of vinyl had sold out. Soul Step Records is proud to announce that the vinyl is back in print and will release on August 3rd.

This album was met with great critical acclaim as listeners discovered Brian Owens’ unique take on Johnny Cash songs. This album was produced by Daru Jones, drummer for Jack White. This album also features Robert Randolph on guitar. Brian Owens reimagines some of The Man in Black’s songs in a new soulful way.

We think Rolling Stone magazine said it best.
“Brian Owens successfully proves that the songs of Johnny Cash belong every bit in the Soul canon as they do in Country.”

Limited edition vinyl will go on sale on Saturday, August 3rd to Soul Step Subscribers. The general public sale will be on Monday, August 5th.

Last year you released it during Pickathon. This year you release it during Pickathon. I can't get a break! 😹

I think it's her eye color. They look green on that cover

EDIT: in the description it says that her eyes are blue

I was going to joke that she had a different number of eyelashes. These alternate covers are becoming the equivalent of those side by side guess the difference photos you might find in a Highlights magazine.

This is actually better than most
