Two Hands (Vinyl)
Two Hands folds itself gracefully into Big Thief’s impressive discography. This body of work grows deeper and more inspiring with each new album.www.jbhifi.com.au
Some people are REALLY good at ONE thing. I know a guy who's a brilliant Program Manager, understands the ins and outs of deploying networks and servers better than most in the business, and I work for Google, so that's saying something. I handed him a pocket knife and he could not figure out the mechanism to open it. It was fascinating.I used to work at a help desk taking calls from physicians conducting clinical trials, and one of my favorite conversations of all time was with a doctor at PRINCETON who called me because our system wanted her to enter a patient's DOB in the format day/month/year, "and I only know the format monday/day/year! What do I do now?!"

I saw that. It clearly wasn't supposed to be announced or known about yet. Leave it to the corners of the internet to spoil an album roll out!Looks like they took the page/listing down.

FIFY.
The metric system is the tool of the devil! My car gets forty rods to the hogshead and that's the way I likes it!I don’t understand why we don’t use the metric system. It’s the most logical system of measurement by far.
@Joe Mac Can we get your assessment of the greatest part of American culture: tipping?
Until they fix that minimum wage loophole I think there's a pretty slim chance of that.Call out your restaurant owners to ensure your service staff are sufficiently remunerated for their labour and allow tipping to be what it is actually for, a gratuity given by a customer as thanks and recognition for great service rather than them being obligated to do so because the service staff aren’t being paid properly and it’s topping up their wages!

There is one restaurant in my city that does this and they have a sign posted about it refusing tips and saying any tips given will go to charity. Never seen that anywhere else though.
Good for you!I own 2 restaurants and my staff starts at $14/hr. People tip regardless. Some of these folks are making close to $20 an hour to walk folks to heir table. I’m happy to do it but it’s pretty absurd when I think about what I used to do in professional kitchens for like $7 an hour.
Well a "crazy extreme left" idea is that minimum wage shouldn't be below the poverty line. But, I'm just saying, I don't see the entire restaurant industry in the US raising their prices to pay all employees a living wage when they seem more than happy with the Federal minimum of $2.13. some states have passed higher ones but they are still low. I would rather that happen than government forcing it but it goes against the American way.I kind of don’t agree with that either. Even with a minimum wage it’s always going to be a poorly paid positions and if staff are good and aid in you enjoying your evening out then you should be able to offer them a gratuity which should go to them. My issue is with them being so poorly paid that it’s a convention/obligation that you always tip regardless of service level to allow them to earn a fair amount.

I agree that not allowing tipping is weird, but at least they are paying them enough that they were happy to work there as opposed to another restaurant I guess.
Yeah, I agree with your issue. I have a hard time deviating much from 20% because, with waiting experience myself, I feel bad even if the service is poor, so I might just give a little under and usually it is exceptional at very expensive places when I am already blowing my budget, so feel uncomfortable going too much higher. Exceptions in the middle of course.
Army medical officer: Mr. Simpson, you do realize this may result in hair loss, giddiness, and the loss of equilibrium. If I could impart one piece of practical wisdom about clinical trials, it's that if your medicine is being infused or injected in the clinic, ask to see the vial or carton yourself before you allow the needle anywhere near you. Make sure you're getting what you're supposed to be getting.
In fact, that's probably good advice whether you're getting a blinded chemo infusion or your annual flu shot. A second pair of eyes is one of the greatest safety mechanisms there is.
