That really is just a magic set of albums. Especially the first two studio ones, pure gold.

I actually don’t know if I’ve ever listened to the live set, but the three studio albums are probably my favorite ones to listen to. Push comes to shove, Hissing is my favorite album by her.

Have you ever seen the REMTv documentary? They show an older clip from the 80s where some fan asks Michael Stipe why they don't print the lyrics because he can't understand them and he gives some snarky pretentious answer about how they like them to be ambiguous. I felt kind of bad for the kid because he's obviously shook just asking a question.

Edit:. Found the clip. I guess if wasn't as snarky as I thought. He just said they don't print them because they feel the words aren't any more important than the other insurments so why separate them. And basically the words changed every time they performed it.

Nah. For me it’s the song itself, irrespective of its level of exposure. The two I mentioned before were a hard no from the very first listen, before they were ubiquitous.
