Pre-Order Thread

me from 5-6 years ago would be all over these releases as I was slowly building up my collection. I surprisingly don't have any Bright Eyes albums and don't know if I really need any? It doesn't help that I'm running out of space and need to sell before I buy nowadays.

I only own I'm Wide Awake (bought it on here from someone before the VMP announcement). I never really got into bright eyes until somewhat recently.

Bo Burnham would like $100 of your U.S. Dollars

There is a signed version on his site (go to this link and back out to the store to see it), as well as this basic version, a Spotify splatter version, and a UO Clear and Target white

"Limited" is a loose term on this one

Inside was good, but good in a way that I never want to see it again. Like that was emotionally draining to the point it has little rewatchability. Stripping out the visual aspect, I'm not sure I'd ever play this for enjoyment. I'll stream that Jeffrey Bezos song which lasts like a minute AND THEN WHAT?

I feel the exact same way

Man you summed it up perfectly. It was of its time and now feels like going back and rewatching it would be like having a PTSD episode for a lark.

I've played the whole album before on wax, it's not as draining without the video. My GF is a huge Burnham stan so she ordered a signed one, but I also expect that if you're so inclined you can probably get this on a UO or Target Sale in a year for half the price or better

Edit: This will be GREAT fodder for Target's "Buy Three, Cancel Two" sale for higher priced goodies.

I couldn't even make it through Inside. When it was released I was in a dark Covid hole and after 30 minutes I felt even worse. Turned it off and never looked back.

After we finished it my wife and I just sat in silence for a good 2-3 minutes. As @folsom_lives said it was a product of its time and captured lightning in a bottle. I can see it appealing to big fans of his and maybe people who enjoy exploring that kind of head space on a regular basis. If it pops up for $10-20 I'd definitely reconsider.

Question for Bright Eyes fans. With all the options of his work available on Secretly, including these "companions" and "collections", I'm not seeing track lists in Secretly's descriptions. So does anyone know if any of these records include the track "No Lies, Just Love"? I guess that's technically a Son Ambulance / Bright Eyes track, but it's my favorite song he's ever written, so I'd love to pick up a record with that track on it.

So far, the reissued albums all have the original tracklist and the companion eps are always 5 newly re-recorded versions of songs from the original lp plus one cover version, so they dont collect songs from singles, eps, soundtracks etc with these reissues, but the son ambULANCE /bright eyes split ep seems to be widely available and if you dont want to go through amazon it´s also on son ambulances bandcamp:
