I love oral histories. This was one of 3 music related books I read last year (the others Being The Beastie Boys Book & Tweedy) all were great but Lizzy Goodman’s Book was a huge slice of nostalgia for me personally, I was just out of high school and living on my own for the first time when the whole NYC revival thing got going it was responsible (along with an assist from Pitchfork fo helping me move beyond the jam band rut I had been in for most of High School. My metal lost me pretty early when Korn and Limp Bizkit would go on TRL and pal around with the likes of the Backstreet Boys whatever initial edginess that style of music had faded super quickly with me. But I digress, check out that book if ya get a Chance it’s a bratty quick read.
