Pre-Order Thread

This one, too. I sold it a while back when I was low on funds...kinda wish I held on to it!

I can't figure out how to order Lana Del Rey from Rough Trades UK store.

Even with registering a new account, when I log in, which is required to complete the checkout process, I get redirected to the US store and my basket is empty.

New preorder for Indies version? I just gave it a try and got to the make payment ships to USA address.

Since posting I found out that after logging back in, there is away to change back to the UK shop.

Then I had to find the record again, and add it to my cart.

That shipping though is insane.

Really hoping I can still find this states side.

Exclusive blue variant of the Loyle Carner album Hugo with shipping from UK that is much more reasonable in comparison to post above. They must have changed something, because the first variant (orange) had a much higher shipping cost to US.

Not looking good for small independent record shops getting the Lana Del Rey indie exclusive.

My local shop said Lana Del Rey is now listed via his disbutores online portal for purchase. And the indie exclusive is listed as "not available/sold out".

Explain to me how this all works. How are shops like Rough Trade able to know they are getting this and when the announcement / drop time of the release are. But, true, small independent record shops are completely in the dark. They have no idea that a new record is coming until after it's been announced and made available on sites like Rough Trade or Bull Moose. And it can be days before they know if they will have access to oder it.

It's the commoditization of Indie Record Stores. I mean, is Rough Trade or Bullmoose really an Indie store anymore?

Same thing happened in Craft Beer, where you have major national retailers still claiming to be craft even though they have largescale distribution and reach. The words become shibboleths of attitude/ethos than an actual descriptive term.

Real, actual indie stores/craft beer makers that are family shops and local are getting squeezed by people who think they're actually still supporting someone of that ilk against the "Man."

Waxwork Records is doing their subscription again this year - they took 2022 off because most of the releases from 2021 got backed up.

It just went up this morning - $285.00

These were originally announced to be limited to 1000, but I think they opened it up a bit more...but not too much.
Honestly the De Wolfe library music used in Dawn of the Dead 1978 is more scary than the Goblin tracks.

I have a good chat with my local record store owner ..a true indie one woman band ...she has a real problem with these indie exclusive releases ..by the time she gets them in the shop on release date .. most fans have preordered on line via artists website, indie store websites , hmv in the uk site ...she has no chance of competing and they often sit in the racks .. so often only orders them in on request...and even then people let her down ..I try and email her requests to put business her way but often go direct in case of missing out ...it’s not easy running a genuine small business

That DMB is a weird one. I have this one, also a 2016 20th anniversary re-mastered release. Guess splatter is at a premium!

I do like them equally but I'm more familiar with the library tracks better as I watch the US version more than Argento's version that has more Goblin.

The somewhat recent Second Sight 4K and Blu Ray box sets also included the library tracks spread over 2 CD's along with the Goblin score on a 3rd disc.

I think I may have to give them a listen while I clean tonight.

If this doesn't start with a sound clip of Jonah Hill saying "ASK ME ABOUT MY WIENER" I ain't buying it.

The final entry in Fu Manchu's COVID-delayed 30th 10" series is up for preorder!

Fu30Pt3Packshot.png
The third and final installment in Fu Manchu’s 30th Anniversary vinyl 10” series, Fu30, Pt.3, includes 2 new original Fu Manchu songs, as well as a cover of The Plimsouls’ “A Million Miles Away,” featuring Clutch’s Neil Fallon on vocals. This is the final edition in this 10” series, making a total of 30” of new Fu Manchu music for the Fu30 anniversary. Each release included 2 new original compositions and a newly recorded cover.

Like the band’s most recent album, Clone Of The Universe, Fu30, Pt. 1 and Fu30, Pt. 2, Fu30, Pt. 3 was recorded at The Racket Room in Santa Ana, California by Jim Monroe (Adolescents, Ignite) and co-produced with Fu Manchu. This limited edition 2,000 unit run is pressed on purple vinyl at 45 RPM for maximum heaviness with a package design that pays homage to the cover of The Plimsouls’ original single, which was popularized in 1983’s Valley Girl.
