I think I get. She is much more outgoing than her BoyGenius bandmates. Julien and Lucy seem much more reserved and introverted. If you were a teenage girl who was looking to find and artist beyond Taylor Swift’s more mainstream pop sound and were looking for something with a bit more edge, I think someone like Bridgers is an easy jump to make.

I love them all about the same, but if I HAD to choose, I'd go with Julien Baker. Her songs can get quite heavy though sometimes.

I think I like Phoebe the most BECAUSE she's so subdued. I can feel all the pain and hurt in her songs even when she's so calm and relaxed. Anyone can get angry on a song, and do it well as a matter of fact. But it takes a ton of talent and finesse to deliver pain and suffering that feels as raw and earnest as the things Phoebe has in her songs with her level of restraint.

I think it’s more the lack of tempo change. It can all get a bit samey and meld into one big mid tempo mush in longer sessions.
My favourite recording of hers, even if it’s not necessarily my favourite song, is me and my dog off Boygenius because it builds up to something.
