When Slumberland reissued their self titled album (which was much harder to find at the time) it initially sold out relatively quickly but it’s been repress multiple times since. So, I would assume that would be the same here; if it sells out, Slumberland will keep repressing it.

I also checked discogs when I first saw this and thought "is this out of print?" There's been 3 editions in the past and all are gettable for around $30-$40 used. I guess it's technically out of print.

I can appreciate this. I found a cheap copy of SYR3 Sonic Youth - Invito Al Ĉielo at my local a few years back and felt pretty itchy until I managed to add SYR1 and SYR2 to my collection as well. I haven’t venture forward since (I think there are something like 9 titles so far in the series) but owning 1 thru 3 at least releases me from some strange OCD anxiety.

Also, The good thing with this particular release is that it’s Volume 1. If it were something like volume 6 it would be even worse. If Volume 2 is something I don’t care about then it’s easy to skip as long as subsequent volumes also don’t turn out to be awesome. The good new is that this album (and presumably later volumes) do not feature Phoebe Bridgers or Taylor Swift, so my hope is that they’d shouldn’t be too tough to find on the secondary market if the need strikes me.

yes there's 9 and if you ever get the call to get the rest, they sometimes have them on sale via the SY bandcamp (but you'll get better prices via 'cogs); also also, 4 ('good bye 20th century'), 7 (j'accuse ted hughes') and 9 ('simon warner a disparu') are the most worthwhile ones, if you're into the noise freakouts and experimental sides of the band. if you're not, the whole series is emminently skippable.
