You mean you didn't know them from this song. It was kind of a big song.
My daughter listened to them and I never really did.

This song is still a bagner.

Don’t forget Portugal the Man.I always get Young The Giant mixed up with Cage The Elephant.
In addition to every Molina version of Farewell Transmission, Glen Hansard's cover of Farewell Transmission is also pretty great.
In fact, the EP of Molina's songs he did is worth a listen too.
I knew nothing of Hayden until his new record was announced. Listened to On A Beach and instantly preordered the signed deluxe edition.I know he has done reissues of his first three LPs (Everything I Long For, The Closer I get, and Skyscraper National park), they were done really well but sold out quickly. I have OGs of them all (minus The Closer I get which never saw a vinyl release until the reissue "series"). I wouldn't be surprised if we get a reissue of Elk-Lake Serenade soon. I don't know though if the pervious 3 will be reissued again any time soon. Pretty sure he did all the reissues all himself, and he did not skimp out on the quality.
The lesson I've learned with Hayden, don't wait, he may not be a big deal in the USA but he has a cult following here, and obviously does pretty well in Canada. He is playing Massey Hall in May and it's super tempting to fly out for that show. it won't disappoint, especially the shows he's done recently just by looking at the set lists.
I think the only thing of his that has not come out on vinyl is the live record he did, which has a killer cover of Neil Young's "Tell Me Why" Also would not be surprised if that finally gets issued on vinyl (could be a good RSD title for Canadians)

I worked for a radio station in the late 90s and our programming director was a guy who basically stopped liking new music when Kurt Cobain died. We got the promo for The Closer I Get, and he must have hated it, because it ended up in his trashcan. I went through his trash every evening because I knew all the good stuff ended up in there. I'm really psyched for the new album!I knew nothing of Hayden until his new record was announced. Listened to On A Beach and instantly preordered the signed deluxe edition.
My local, jpc, rough trade all have it for preorder. So it's a wide release and 20$ shipping should be unnecessary$20 shipping really kills this for me. But I'm curious to listen to the rest when it comes out. Hopefully it'll make it's way to a streaming
These guys are fantastic! Loved their first two albums can’t wait for their new one to drop.
They are the literal embodiment of the old cliche, "your favorite band's favorite band." Didn't know about these guys until I saw Waxahatchee posting about them on her Insta. These guys are fantastic! Loved their first two albums can’t wait for their new one to drop.
