i know i know...just one of those bands I didn’t get into at a younger age and then just never kinda went back to.oh my god
Not sure is you have much time to read anything other than Dr. Seuss at the moment but I would recommend reading (or checking out the Audiobook which is kinda neat as it’s read by some fun people) Our Band Could Be Your Life. The chapter on SY will have ya eagerly digging through their discography.i know i know...just one of those bands I didn’t get into at a younger age and then just never kinda went back to.

I feel like a lot of people’s first taste of SY came on a grungy hand-me down tape of one or the other. I remember a friend in high school (literally) throwing an un-cased clearly used-and-taped-over Maxell at me and told me “listen to this.” It was a copy of “Goo” and the rest is why not many people would ride in my car to lunch for many weeks and also history. So when I was lost in The Mid 90's Dave Matthews Band Dream that so many of us were caught into- the local music equipment shop had a secret binder. The binder was lists of bootleg VHS concerts the store owner could obtain copies of. Lots of European fest shows, all professionally taped. I used it as my DMB concert fix while waiting on new CDR-s to arrive from online traders.
One night I'm in my room finishing up some Warehouse>Ants>Watchtower or whatever and Dave's garbling distorts and fades, replaced by a group of hunched over weird people banging out some unintelligible racket.
It was Sonic Youth playing Dirty Boots on a TV performance- someone had used an old tape to record the DMB show over.
This began the path into rock and roll degeneracy
no preorder yet but....
Wait you buried the lede here, he also has a new album coming??In case this wasn’t already posted
