Even better when they hold other items you ordered for the 6 months as well until the pre-order item becomes available and ship everything together.

Tell me about it. Five years ago I would have never paid that much for a record. These days when I see that price I look at it as a great bargain.
You don't want to know how many 2x LP records that I have bought over the last 6 months have been at the $50 price point or higher for no apparent reason.
