Pre-Order Thread

Oh right, the list I saw said that Strawberry Fields/Penny Lane and Let It Be were the only two UK releases with picture sleeves and that they were using those two! If the above is the case then you are 100% right, that’s a shocking call!

Let's hope yours is right. But thought I'd seen some more classic versions of others - maybe not...

Capitol had sleeves for pretty much everything in America and local labels worldwide did loads but my digging could only find sleeves for those two on initial release in the UK. Doubtless there were new sleeves made for later re releases of them after the band had split.

Some audio discussion of their releases:

I think I’m out for now, I don’t need to be spending money on this kind of thing right now! Thanks though, it’s good to know for when the 7” itch strikes again and I need to scratch it!

I've got a bunch of Beatles 7" records that I bought at car boot sales when I was 15 years old. I excitedly looked them up on discogs a couple of years ago thinking they might be worth something. Turns out they're pretty much all as worthless as when I bought them 25 years ago.

Sounds Of The Universe has a load of rare Brazilian reissues at the moment, in super limited stock.

I might be missing something here but their prices seem crazy high......£90 plus postage for a 2019 reissue of Lula Côrtes E Zé Ramalho ‎– Paêbirú for example. I had a look on discogs and it can be picked up for £45, still expensive but literally half the price.

Most of these are Polysom reissues from the Clássicos em Vinil serie that Mr Bongo usually sells for 40€ (or even less) so yes, prices are crazy high.

I realize the Gary Glitter/The Joker discussion was like 30 pages ago, but I thought some might be interested in this article.

Even if he's not getting any money from the song, I still think its inclusion was a poor choice.
