Everybody has their thing, no reason to flip, it hurts all of us. I don’t want a zoetrope disc or need to have every color of the latest album by anyone or need 15 copies of Pink Floyd. There are people that think it is nuts I spent close to $50 for a Black Sabbath record…
There are plenty of people who think it is weird any of us buy records at all, especially when most of us subscribe to one or more streaming platforms.
I’m not gonna say anyone should or shouldn’t do it, that’s on them… but the secondary market has a lot to do with the price of vinyl right now.Yeah but if I'd have gotten 2 of the $50 black sabbath records I could have sold 1 and covered the cost of both and made $50 to buy something else. Should I have done it?

I pif and/or take things to trade to my local. I feel like both get records to people that want them and I get something out of it as well.Agreed there. I don't like selling because I hate dealing with people. To the point where I'm not doing a collection purge because I hate the hassle of selling to internet randoms between discog fees and PayPal siding with buyers every time. So I stay out.

I don’t flip records but I don’t hate flippers. I hate Capitalism.I’m not gonna say anyone should or shouldn’t do it, that’s on them… but the secondary market had a lot to do with the price of vinyl right now.
this is the way. i know i will make less money bringing stuff to my local, but saves me a headache and they pay fairly based on the idea that they then have to sell them and make profit.I pif and/or take things to trade to my local. yep. FOMO marketing makes people buy multiple copies, or copies just to resell. false scarcity is the problem most of the time. rhino could press and sell 20k copies of sabbath over time I'm sure, but they choose to do 5,000 copies.I don’t flip records but I don’t hate flippers. I hate Capitalism.
The comments in Discogs where people are super aggro because a record they want is selling on the secondary market for 10 times the MSRP are exasperating. The problem isn’t the flippers it’s the market place.
I mean flipping is late stage capitalism. You take a commodity that is desired and remove it from the market so that you can profit on it.I don’t flip records but I don’t hate flippers. I hate Capitalism.

Why do these keep being picture discs
Really? I always thought they had to be more expensive to make. Now I'm super curious. My guess it is because they are cheaper and much easier to do at scale.

Have no idea, just speculating here. Blood seems to always to do picture discs for their really big runs. Has to be cheaper right?
