I have real conflicted feelings: on the one hand, holy shit fuck that racist shitbag. and then on the other hand, I learned how to play playing with Cream records (one reason I still love trio playing), and my dad loved a lot of clapton's music so I sorta grew up with it. Every now and then I catch Layla on the radio and it just destroys me. clapton's such a terrible dude though, the racism, the drugs... but all that shittiness fires some weirdass furnace inside, because you listen to cream at royal albert and even for ancient assholes they still have fire in them
He’s a great musician who has made some great music. He’s also a useless human being. It’s rough man.
