Pre-Order Thread

Oh, I'm gonna think about signing up for Joyful Noise VIP for the new Tall Tall Trees album. VIP edition is beautiful, and unless things have changed, their albums are pressed at Pirates, so usually very high quality. I really enjoyed his last album and still spin it regularly.

Thanks!

Heads up that the Tall Tall Trees album is the January record for JNR's VIP subscription, so if you signed up for the sub, you're already getting it. Looks like a handful of people accidentally bought a second copy not realizing this. Which I guess is to be expected since this is a new thing for them.

Interesting. So the Joyful NoiseVIP subscription is no longer 5$ a month, but is more and includes a monthly record? Last time I had a sub was when Omoiyari was released. Also, does this mean there are more than 300 ……… nevermind, as I was asking my question I checked JN website and the TTT VIP is sold out. Oh man, bummer.

They ended the option that came with a monthly 7", and replaced it with a sub that sends the VIP version of a full album that's released during that month. Practically speaking, yeah, this means that there are gonna be way fewer copies of the VIP pressings for those albums up for grabs for non-subscribers.

I think you still have the option of doing the $5 a month VIP membership that doesn't come with any records, though. Which would get you access to downloads, guest list requests, and earlier ordering for other releases (including the VIP pressings that are available after accounting for the subs)

ALSO...I'd keep checking the store page, it wouldn't surprise me if more copies went up for sale as people realize they accidentally ordered multiple copies and have their duplicate orders cancelled.

Shame on me for not sharing this earlier. Blaenavon's sophomore release is out already, but US distro is still up for pre-order.

Available now via quality Euro sources (got mine through Norman):

Another one I think might've been overlooked. Envy announced a new album—one that almost never came to be. Needless to say, looking forward to this one!

I was lucky enough to get to see Envy once. Drove down to Denton, TX to see them one week night after work. La Dispute and Touche Amore opened up for them. It was an amazing show.

Must not be selling as quickly as they need it to.
I think it’s selling as quick as they had imagined - but they’re trying to make the outrageous price for their past ROTM not look so bad by adding a promo for the Lucky Luke’s (drawing quicker than your shadow) and make it double FOMO:
"That Fiona Apple Tidal album you wanted is back in stock! Experience music from one of the greatest living songwriters. Get yours before they sell out again with 15% off until 11/15."

Swaaaaaaaaaap.

Did anyone who pre-ordered the new Vagabon album ever receive their copy? I’m just realizing now that I never got my copy and it was released on September 21 I believe.
I believe all physical copies were delayed as the album title changed at the request of the poet who came up with the original title. Seems physical stock were released mid October, so I’d expect VMP to get their copies out as part of Nov/Dec.

Vagabon arrived today with my box.
I did not order from VMP I ordered direct from the label. To the email I shall go....

Gotcha, I had been catching up on the comic pages of Fiona hype / let down / hype returns in the VMP Exclusives thread when I saw this message, so I thought I was still in the that thread, my bad.

But the fact that something arrived from VMP before being shipped from the artist's actual label seems insane. VMP is usually 2 months later in shipping records out in most cases. Vagabon was one of the only recent VMP exclusives I bought because it was reasonably priced. Normally I'm 1) bandcamp, 2) label if no bandcamp 3) Bullmoose (bc I like how they box records for shipping)
