Pre-Order Thread

SD is kind of a blindspot for me too. Not really familiar with the deep cuts. Adore was as well, but I rectal-fied that a while ago.
it was inescapable when I was junior high. They played singles on the radio and MTV and everyone had the CD. For me it Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie were the essential albums.

Gish was before my time (though I did go back to explore it once I became a fan) and I wasn’t nearly as interested in SP when Adore was initially released (but I went back to it a few years later when I was on a nostalgia kick).

I know a lot of fans go much deeper into their discography but those first 4 albums are well worth a listen, they have some excellent B-Sides and Soundtrack cuts during that period too and the Pisces Iscariot EP is worth checking out.

…and Zwans and Holes - Celebrity Skin

Just in case anyone hadn't seen the notice yet, Rough Trade is about to switch over to Shopify and will be asking for payment immediately instead of charging right before the preorder ships.

Also, any current preorders are going to be charged to your cc on file after the changeover on 06 Feb.

Amazing cover!
The album cover features Lewis nakedly re-staging that well known album cover The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan which was famously photographed one snowy February day in 1963. The original featured Bob Dylan and Suze Rotolo walking along together in the snow, just around the corner from Dylan’s 4th Street apartment. 60 years later, lifelong 4th St resident Jeffrey Lewis had the idea to try to take the same chilly photo but with no pants on, to prove himself “even more” freewheelin’ than Bob! This plan was foiled by global warming, as New York City winters no longer offer snowy street photo ops, but at least Jeffrey tried.

Whats your opinion on that. Is this a good or bad thing as they claim cheaper shipping and you can still cancel your order.

Huge miss by not calling it The Freeballin' Jeffrey Lewis.

Hadn’t seen this one posted yet, first ever official pressing of Super Mario World on 3LP. Releases in April. Comes out to just under 100 shipped, but a small price to pay for this white whale.

You have any information on this? Is it a wide release or an exclusive/limited release? I would like a copy but I feel like the international shipping 3xLP might destroy the jacket before it gets to me.

If it’s a wider release I might see if @ethose can get some in and save a bit on shipping/chance of damage.

Of all things I found out via a CD Japan Instagram post/ad, but it looks like pre order went up 2 weeks ago and no word on whether it’ll make it stateside.

There’s a cheapish FedEx option that says it arrives in 3-4 days, so I figure chances are decent it arrives in good condition. I didn’t want to risk it either way but it is limited to 1 per person.

I found a post where some shop had it up for preorder in Europe (it’s sold out though) it says it’s being released by Warner Music Japan so that gives me hope that it’s a wider release (maybe not stateside) but perhaps shops like Paladin, Light In The Attic, Cromulent, or Turntable Labs might import some stateside for their shops. I am gonna hold tight and see if I can find one a bit closer before buying from Japan directly.
