Their system couldn't handle it well and it made a ton of emails go out on different orders. They sent out an apology today.

Their preorder pages don't seem right either, I am seeing lots of inflated prices.

Answer from Rhino via Steven Westman: it was recorded and mixed digitally and then mastered to tape. It will be announced on Steve's YouTube at 11:30 PST who mastered the OG EQed tapes.

That’s some VMP level of effort to get information about a product.

Dylan did this with Mark Lanois and there are some other examples too. I believe Lanois and Dylan recorded some albums digitally, then mastered them to analogue tape. Similar to what MoFi does to run DSD through analogue console to go to the lathe.

What Mofi does is ADA. I have no problem with a digital source. It’s all in how you present it and what you do with the master, I’m just not sure what the point is in analogue mastering for a digital recording. Are they looking to create extra harmonics?

While we’re on the topic, do we know who mastered the Argentinian release last year?
