Pre-Order Thread

This was my introduction too and I loved this commercial. This and the Levi's commercial with Lush "Undertow" are the 2 commercials I frequently google for nostalgia.
The Levis one is great too. They had some wonderful commercials back in the day. The one that really sticks out for me besides the one you listed was the one featuring Soft Cell’s “Tainted Love”.

I also enjoyed several of the old Gap commercials from the late 90s early 2000 too.

I totally forgot about this commercial and you just unlocked some really old memories.
Stereolab was used in a VW ad as well before this. Parsec I think.

I remember when I first saw the Pink Moon ad (very well done). I had been a Drake fan for years but almost fell off my seat when I saw it. It hardly showed up at first here in Canada so people thought I was making shit up when I claimed Pink Moon was used in a VW ad.

You guys have laws against advertising pharma in Canada, correct? I wish that were the case here. You’d think the majority of the country suffers from psoriasis or thyroid eye disease.
Let's ban them from buying sports uniform sponsorship patches and stadium naming rights too. Like...why do they have that much money??? (I mean, we know why.)

When a commercial does appear on TV targeted for a young demographic currently the trend it to make it appear as a faux social media influencer spot. That come off as both pointless and desperate, just leave the social media influencer stuff on social media. You’d think they would want their commercials to stand out instead of blending in but what do I know my niece and nephews would rather watch other kids play video games on YouTube than actually play themselves. I am no longer the target demographic for this stuff.

I was all like, Drake really? Never would have thought you would like mediocre rappers.

The moral of the story is I have not had enough coffee this morning.

Volkswagen was my introduction. I still find this commercial absolutely tranquil.

Arguably the greatest use of music in commercial history. It was also my introduction to Nick Drake and sent me down a rabbit hole for his music.

As someone else mentioned there seemed to be a ton of great car commercial music back then. I remember this one in particular from about the same time. Moby, I think

That was the commercial that made me want a Jetta. I eventually got one in my 20's after college lol.

After the Nick Drake VW video my next favorite was one featuring Trio’s “Da Da Da”

Also, Wilco basically just released Volkswagen commercials in leu of actual music videos for Sky Blue Sky.
