Pre-Order Thread

No worries! Wish I could go to one of the in-stores but there isn’t enough of a grime fan base/demand in NI to warrant him coming over here.

Ah don’t remind me about Integrity. I’m on the eternal hunt for the vinyl! If only I possessed a shiny Charizard..
Thats a shame. JME was always the one grime artist I wanted to see live, so even this short set will be amazing to me. I got lucky with the vinyl and bought it from a guy for pretty much face value. He was aware of its value but just wanted some quick money.

I have seen the vast majority of them live over the years, Skepta, Stormzy, D Double E (funnily enough I saw him this summer as a guest for Sons Of Kemet, of all people), etc. The worst, by far (in fact of all the gigs I have ever seen) was Wiley. He turned up late and must of rapped for all of 5 minutes, he just let the backing track play out or let a guest do it. Embarrassingly bad and its really put me off him. I have a few of his records (including the Godfather white label which has just shot up in value) but can barely face listening to it after that gig.

Edit: Just looked on discogs and my red copy of Skepta's Konnichiwa has almost tripled in value as well. Grimes making waves!

Surprised Wiley even turned up for those 5 minutes given his rep for shows and video shoots.

D Double E and Sons of Kemet on the same bill sounds mad though, would love to hear them collab. Yeah I have Godfather and Konnichiwa too, couldn’t believe the market value when I looked recently!

Think promoters are scared of grime acts here since Stormzy did a tickets-on-doors-only gig a few years back with thousands queuing up on the streets, the police having to get involved and it all making the BBC news..

I had heard he had a bad rep for that kind of thing but never thought it would be to that extent, just an awful way to treat paying fans.

It was such an amazing gig, all the reviews I saw gave it top ratings. It was a really clever way to set up the gig, basically allowing a different guest to drop in every other song. Really interesting and amazing warm up act as well called DJ Noss. His music was a mix of electronic, world, and jazz. He sat on this big drum which he would slap either side of his legs and also played a conch (the shell thing) at one point. Really cool - heres a taster.

Thats insane, im going to have to dig up that article!!

Sounds like a class gig. I wish we got more interesting stuff like that over here - we feed off scraps haha. Though I did see The Comet is Coming earlier this year here and it was mind blowing.

Songs from the first 3 games!

Not really a preorder since it’s shipping now, but Da Lench Mob’s “Guerillas In Tha Mist” on orange/green splatter is available from Get on Down today:

Thanks I definitely will just didn't want to bother them if it had been delayed and I was unaware

funnily enough I got a shipping notification for Mid Air Thief despite cancelling that order a couple of weeks after they announced it. Got my money back and everything IIRC.

Let me know if yours never arrives & I'll get you my copy (since I'm undeserving)
