Pre-Order Thread

I hear you, and these are valid points and justified frustration. I'm down with transparency on the roll out process.

That said, part of me had to chuckle and think this is was a very intentional move. Fiona the trickster. Knowing how hard it has been in the past to secure the vinyl of her albums - which have all been pressed on black without color variants (I believe) - she knew fans would immediately purchase the black version from her store (before the variants were released). Upshot - given potential fidelity issues with color vinyl, fans secure the best sounding version of her album, in theory at least. I have to think this is intentional, and it doesn't leave a bad taste in my mouth, but makes me think she is as nimble as ever. My take has a lot of conjecture about it, but it feels plausible, and I was happy to purchase the black vinyl and keep that as my only order. Don't get me wrong, I like variants too, but after reflecting on it, I had myself a solid chortle.

Also possible that since she insisted on releasing this 6 months earlier than her label planned for, all those other versions hadn't been ironed out yet (though this could just be my ignorance of how far in advance these things have to be planned). Not to mention it's hard to imagine Fiona gives a rat's ass about any of this! ;) Not challenging your suggestion because I agree it's plausible and I like your version best haha, just offering another possibility.

Continuing with their ever-expanding Revisionist History series, Matador Records announce a 25th anniversary reissue of Yo La Tengo’s 1995 album Electr-o-pura. Now in a gatefold sleeve and cut from the original 58-minute master, the new reissue is pressed for the first time on two LPs to ensure the highest quality of audio the album has had on vinyl to date.

On their seventh studio album, Yo La Tengo would further expand on the venturous songwriting established on their previous album Painful with stunning craft and a deepened exploration of contrasting textures, moods and atmospherics. Chock full with moments of pop gold like “Tom Courtenay,” melancholic ballads such as the heartbreaking “Pablo And Andrea,” and sweeping, feedback-laden jams like the show-stopping “Blue Line Swinger”, Electr-o-pura is a thrilling document of one of America’s most beloved bands hitting their creative stride and remains one of the most sublime records the band has released in their uninterrupted 36-year career.

Ugh, not shipping until September. I might... MIGHT have my VMP Fetch The Bolt Cutters before this gets released.

Sarah Shook's 2012 debut EP, pressed on vinyl for the first time!
180-gram heavyweight marbled copper vinyl with updated artwork and digital download code. Limited edition of 500. Pressed locally in Chicago at Smashed Plastic Record Pressing.
Originally intended for release in time for the Disarmers' canceled spring tour, but we thought you might like something new to enjoy at home.

A rough-and-ready seven-song chronicle of a band putting down their roots, but foreshadowing realized greatness. Even in this early stage of her career, Shook's signature brand of country music—wry and irreverent, high and lonesome—sent up the smoke signals for a much-needed alternative to the feigned-authenticity of middle-of-the-road "Americana" singer-songwriters.

Pretty happy about this. I have the single disc version, so I will be able to PIF that in September. I was holding off on Alien Lanes but they are released a week apart so I might order them together. Now just have to wait for Chavez and Bailter Space to get announced.

This looks like an awesome project, thank you for the heads up. Happy to throw down a bit extra with profits going to conservation efforts. Grabbed the record and two of the prints as my partner's grandfather is an avid birdwatcher and am sure he would love one too.

Please show me when your prints arrive! I'm interested in seeing some of them. There are really cool ones. Also I received the survey to select your design. Do you have it yet?

Hows the shipping from Qrates for that Fearless Flyers vinyl?

I will definitely do so! I haven’t received the survey yet no. Thank you for letting me know about it though, I’ll give it a day or two and then lightly enquire if I was supposed to have or not.
