Pre-Order Thread

Maybe late to the party here but why don’t the Bullmoose or Zia sites load for so many people. I’ve never managed to ever get in any of them and I see people make reference to it.
I’d just assumed they’d both blocked access from the UK and/or EU countries because of either GDPR or not servicing them. Don’t know anything specific.

Yep, that's what I was told a while back. I'm in Mexico and can't enter those websites.

Yes but also the shipping costs just don’t make it worth it for companies their size. International retail for a business like them is a whole different game sadly.
To not even be able to see the site is something else though. Weird. I’ve bought from small stores all around the world. If a random eBay seller can ship worldwide I’m at a loss why a record store can’t. Each to their own.

It looks like that Neil Young record has disappeared from the sites it had been listed previously. I land on a "Page Not Found" page at Rough Trade.

I don’t disagree with you. But as an occasional discogs seller I had to stop selling internationally because shipping prices were way too expensive, things frequently got lost and it was too much of a headache, to be honest. They must have had some bad experiences with international selling or simply could not get a good shipping service at a decent price. I was convinced to sell an expensive record to someone abroad, it never arrived despite saying delivered and I couldn’t get a refund from insurance for it being lost because it was marked as delivered. It sucks for international customers but also BullMoose and Zia seem to have no issue moving product here.

me too... I've never heard of this guy/group? But listening to on Spotify - its amazing. picked up @ LITA b/c i was grabbing some stuff from their sale anyways and the reiko ike reissue 👀

i gotta stay away from these pre-order / vinyl sale threads... But i'm glad I came across this one. Its like 1 part Gabor Szabo, 1 Part Khruangbin, and another part Adrian Younge - its all the ingredients of amazing.

I tried to hunt down that Reiko Ike release when it was previously released on RSD, but now that it's available, I can't bring myself to pay the $55

Shipping from the US to anywhere abroad is a massive pain in the ass and exponentially more expensive for us than domestic shipping. I fortunately haven't lost anything shipping abroad, but anything other than Canada gives me a little bit of heartburn. I wish it was a lot easier and at least somewhat cheaper.

Even Canada caused me some heartburn last time I sent something because it was almost $25 to ship 1 LP and it took 3 weeks for it to arrive to the guy I sold it to. I just felt bad in the end but nothing I could do about it.

Anyone here have the "Danzig Sings Elvis" release in hand and if so, would you offer comments on it versus his previous releases? Cleopatra has been an iffy label in my opinion, so I was unsure of the vinyl or sound quality. I am unclear if the LP has been released or is in some kind of pending limbo of release. Thanks in advance.

Yeah...Not a lot of good can be said about Cleopatra. I got my black vinyl copy through Plaid Room, so I don't know what sort of limbo there is with this release...or if there is any. I know all vinyl variants are considered "limited" - could be that they all sold out.

I also don't have any of the recent Danzig albums as I really haven't liked them enough to purchase....but quality of this one is about the same as other Cleopatra releases I have.

Honestly I probably shouldn't have either but it feels like this might be the only chance for me to own it. It does kinda feel like a cash grab.

I tried to get it as well...but I did pull the trigger on this new one...I forgot who i ordered through though...(just checked...it was LITA...ordered early April)

I occasionally play the CD that is in the Pinky Violence DVD box set.

I don't think it's the same album, but it could be.

If I was a US company id absolutely do the same. Captive domestic market of 300 odd million and insane international postage costs. It costs me €13 to post most records to the US with An Post, the cost of shipping from US to Ireland with USPS is $24.50

For anyone looking to pick this up Rough Trade has a few rough trade exclusive pink Thundercats listed. Looks like there’s around 20 left.

I have this one. Decent edition. The "gold foil" bit there is not accurate though.
