I typically agree but people seem to love TTL: good colors and an obi. Their last album is priceyyy now. I think Mordechai is actually better, and I think a couple years down the road this is one people will wish they grabbed the TTL version of

There last LP had A Lot fewer colored variants, like maybe 2 or 3 with very small runs. The latest is almost all colored wax. That makes for a big difference. I have repurchased colored LPs over black pressings because of value before so I get it, I just think that when artists flood the zone with colored LPs even though they are limited it is kinda artificial scarcity. If you add up all the different colored variants it doesn’t end up being too rare.

So is there a reason why this album hasn't been reissued? Its got alot of iconic Tom Petty songs and seems like it would of been pressed already.

Yes--there was a big fight over the Petty estate after he passed away. It was available in the Petty box set but not as an individual release. Looks like the estate got settled back in December so expect a lot of Petty reissues to happen in the coming years.

Wildflowers "project" sounds to me like code for covers or B-sides or something.

They said they are going through all the demos and stuff. I'm guessing a deluxe box set with demos, alternate takes, etc.

Box would work I guess, but reissue doesn’t quite cover it.

I've heard lots of these reissues called "projects". My guess is there will be all sorts of variants, packages, etc. 1xLP reissue, 2xLP with extras, super deluxe with random bonus things, etc. Probably similar to the McCartney releases the past few years.
