Pre-Order Thread

Since we are lobbing incendiary devices into the pre-order thread...can someone explain to me the obsession with Bullmoose?

To put it in Standardized testing terms, I am to Bullmoose as @TheThinWhiteDuke is to Boygenius.

Have you ever been to one of their stores?
I have...its garbage time.
It comes off as a closer to HMV than Newbury Comics or Rough Trade.
I dont get it.
Yeah, their stores are ok, it's their online game that's the draw. Their boxes are great. I usually get priority mail shipping on pre-orders and I never pay for shipping.

Lol funny enough, the first time I ever went to a bullmoose was 2 weeks ago, and you're 100% correct. It sucked and is like walking into an FYE (with a small record section). Granted, they have a good amount of locations in New England, so the others may have been better but there were so many better Record shops in Portland.

As @Kris said above, the online sho is the appeal. Super low free shipping costs (especially considering they usually ship priority), great prices, Solid Customer Service, and their Record mailers are by far my favorite (even more than Whiplash). Also they don't charge until an item ships, which is rare for a indie shop (which they still are, despite super successful now and having something like 12 stores).

Honestly Plaid Room is my other favorite, but they don't list nearly as much for pre-order and have $50 shipping minimum.

Bull Moose locations vary wildly in size and quality. My home location in Salem NH is missing a used vinyl section but is otherwise well stocked and organized. The HQ in Mill Creek is great as was Scarborough. Portsmouth was a snooze

Thats what I figured. Most of my preorders come from Mill Creek so I'm assuming that ones where it was at. Portland was awful with a very small used section (which is the main draw for me in checking out record shops). But more than enough other stores in the area to make up for it.

I rarely go to BM, but the most visited location for me is Portsmouth and their used selection is a let down.
I wish NH had a great record store but it doesn't from the ones I've visited.

Quite a few Baker variants, as is her style. Question for those in the know - is it the case that the variants that have been limited so far, are each limited to 500? I don't want to get the VMP, but it seems that's my remaining option as of now if I want a limited variant, right? Others seem to have sold out, and I was late to checking in on this page.

Free shipping on orders over $35.
Bullmoose points to get reduced price records.
And they have great mailers that are well packed.

I've never been into one of these stores before so I really can't speak to the physical store.

Dang, they raised it finally? Still better than most.

Agreed. Skeletone seems to be one of the most popular old school style record stores but it’s very overpriced without much current. Manchester has a few but we are missing a really good one imo.

I think it's still available here: Little Oblivions
