Pre-Order Thread

I don't know how I feel about paying almost $50 after shipping and tax for the cheapest vinyl even though it's a 2 lp album as that seems like a lot in my opinion.
We all need to stop paying these prices. Then they’ll stop charging them. I wanted that Sister Nancy RSD record but $40 is too much. Hopefully they do a standard release for cheaper later. Speak with your wallet.

$35 isn’t outrageous for a 2LP though. P&P is P&P it kinda costs what it costs, can’t expect a shop or band to lose money on it.

I won't spend much more than $30 with shipping included for a 1 lp album and I won't spend $40 before for a 2 lp album. There are so many albums I wanted to buy but didn't because of the cost.

First time on vinyl for the album Perseverance by Hatebreed. Two variants very limited and already sold out on Deathwish Records.
Just worth noting for anyone who cares that this band has had and still does have some garbage humans in it. The album was massive but the people are shit.

There's zero reason for media mail to cost almost $10. If I'm spending that much on shipping i expect priority.
I tend to agree, but sometimes the site / seller may have a reason. Do they have to pay a shipper? Do they use Whiplash mailers?

Most online sellers now ask $6-$7 for the first album.

I noticed some Bandcamp pages charge more, even in the USA. I bit the bullet and paid what Sonic Youth charged for Walls Have Ears because it was special and I wanted it.

Shipping is shipping. It costs what it costs. It’s a cost for the seller you can’t expect them to lose money on. The album costs $35. If you don’t want to pay shipping buy from a local.

Yep, for a single LP, it tends to cost around €6 locally or more likely €10 across Europe. Probably €15 locally or €20 across Europe for any form of tracking. The big box retailers can be cheaper but then you’re buying from a big box retailer so and Amazon is prime but then you’ve got to ask yourself is the human cost of bezos and how they treat their drivers worth that. So I go to my local unless I can’t get it there. This year that’s only been rhino hifi.

I think moaning about shipping is the most pointless and boring thing going.

There are times I noticed that the album comes more on Bandcamp and even though I want the download I'll buy direct from the label because its a little bit less.
