RECORD STORE DAY 2022 - Those of us who can't make it and hoping for...

Yeah I have been looking for this too. I didn’t realize it would be so hard to find. Every place online has none listed

I'm keeping my eye on Silver Platter Records right now.

Their RSD titles haven't gone live yet as they are on west coast time. Though I can't tell if they have inventory or not. Every RSD title just shows "This item is not available at this time"

Tell me about it. And I hate "allocation". My local shop ordered it but didn't get any copies in because they are "too low volume".
That’s part of the reason I’m a little confused as to why the lakes seems like it’s so fricking rare. there’s 10000 of them, how did shops only get a few of them and some have to raffle them off?

Do people have any surprises or albums you spun so far and sound awesome?

I know you probably don’t want to hear the one in particular but James Blake’s Covers sounds superb (still looking for you, I think that may be a shipping straggler).

Otherwise, Kauai does it’s job sonically. Rex Orange County is really fun, bonus tracks, good book,et, recommend if you like the guy

Edit: Just put on Sara Bareilles, it sounds real nice, though that’s probably just me hearing it on a cell phone for years.

Yeah, I don't get it at all. My local got no Art Pepper, Pepper Adams, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Taylor Swift, Ramones, or Jazz Dispensary (plus a lot of other stuff) but meanwhile got FIVE copies of Treasure Isle Presents: Soul Power ’68 - which only had 900 copies pressed!!

It really depends on demand. If there is low demand and enough inventory the smaller shops will get in whatever inventory they ordered.

One of the two record stores in Salem primarily only sells used records. RSD titles are the only new records they order. And for RSD titles they select, they primarily focus on catalog releases from the 60's, 70's and 80's. They didn't typically have many of the titles I'm looking for for newer artists. Such as they didn't order Joss Stone, St. Vincent, Sara Bareilles and so on. They usually try to order Taylor Swift or other large current artists but often do not get them in at all due to allocation. But they do get some crazy quantities of some obscure stuff that has like 600 copies total. It's just weird.

My other local record store only got 1 Joss Stone in, 2 Taylor Swift The Lakes, no Sara Bareilles, no Ramones, No Red Hot Chili Peppers and I don't know about the others you listed.

Thanks! Plaidroom had it but I prioritized other albums instead. If anybody does find the james blake please let me know!

Who was looking for Iggy Pop?

Silver Platters is going to be a negative for Sara Bareilles. I figured out that after I registered account and was logged in I can see inventory by location. No Sara Bareilles at any of their locations =\
