Record Store Day 2023

Same here. I've got to the point where unless it is a particularly good session or has a local connection, then im going to pass on any Bill Evans releases from them I think.
Good thinking. The last 2 Bill Evans were pretty worthwile - the South American recordings, but the Ronnie Scott was beyond horrible.

I've said it here before. Zev is putting out stuff for RSD at big prices that wouldn't cut it any other time. Just taking advantage of the RSD hype and FOMO.

This year there is also a Shirley Scott, which is far from a great recording and pretty standard fare, and a Sonny Stitt, which the great Jazz Detective lists as Sonny on alto throughout, but the front and back covers show Sonny on tenor, and in fact he plays both (although more tenor).

Did anyone notice any releases from "Iron Mountain Analogue Research"? They do the hillbillies in hell series and a few others. Can't seem to find anything for this year.

Edit: Found it. It's a EU/UK exclusive. It will probably show up somewhere though.

Looks like Plaid Room will have it.

Is 9,000 enough for the Grateful Dead set this year that I might be able to snag one online?

It looks like last year they had 8,000 for their Wembley Empire Pool 4/8/72 box set and the previous year they did 6700 of the Olympia Theatre, Paris 5/3/72 set. I feel like this 5/7/77 show might be much more popular than those other shows, though.
