Record Store Day 2025

Harvest Records here posted people lined up yesterday afternoon. Wind chills were in the 20's when I woke up this morning, hope they brought blankets!

Yeah it was snowing fat wet flakes in Schenectady, NY.

Beautiful day in line watching the sun come up. Around 40°F, nice to not have frostbite when it was my turn. My local only got 1-2 of most stuff. Was able to snag the one Zevon set and the one Cowboy Junkies they had. Good crowd - not the biggest or smallest I’ve seen - this year my city had 6 stores participating (up from 1 a few years back) so I think that helped. I was liiiiiike maybe #20 showing up around 6:30am?

My local. Usually 30 people at most waiting. This is doors opened 20 minutes ago. Never seen it this packed.

There was a crazy amount of Swifties going for that 7” at my local. Line was twice as deep as last year arriving at the same time.

Todays’ haul was significantly smaller that I first anticipated, but I’m pretty pleased anyway. Most of my wants was available but I resisted the urge on the more expensive ones. Might pick up a few more if they’re still available at my other local in the upcoming days.

...there wasn't anything insane I wanted today - was going to try for Blur's "Magic Whip", and Rainbow Kitten Suprise...but I don't think I'll even get inside for another hour. Damn you, Swifties!

Not worried about the rest of my list. They'll be out there.

Also, how much Better Than Ezra do they think they are? Two reissues priced at $60+ in a row. Fuckers.
