The album is named for the combs used to maintain an Afro hairstyle, and that’s significant in itself. The group’s Ishmael “Butterfly” Butler sums up the group's intention: "It means the utilization of the natural, a natural style."lightintheattic.net
Does anyone have the previous LITA press of this? Someone on Reddit said it sucked, so before dropping the $ I'd rather hear from one of you trustworthy folks.
I have it. I don’t think it sucks, and it’s definitely better with less surface noise than some other LitA releases I have, but it’s far from audiophile. I only have a few rap/hip-hop records, but it’s not in the same league as the recent VMP “Low End Theory” release or Mofi’s “Raising Hell.”View attachment 148330Blowout Comb

Lol. Reminds me of when VMP did Beck. There were noisy copies (I got one) but people were talking about noise that existed in the recording. Lol. I believe Fugees had the same problem. Are they complaining of surface noise within the first 15 seconds of the first track? I hope they are
Am I delusional to think there might be a $30 copy of this some day?View attachment 148330Blowout Comb
