Restocks/Represses

Received a Regina Spektor album from Movie Mars today, ordered through Walmart. Packaged sufficiently and looks to be in great shape. I was hesitant but can report that it worked out.
Maybe a wider repress is on the way for this Calvin Harris. The album is great and been hard to find. Good to know movie mars did an alright packing job! I think another complaint about them is overselling or not knowing their inventory

Yeah, when I ordered the Spektor (Soviet Kitsch) on Feb. 19, it wasn't available elsewhere. Now I see that Plaidroom has it, and I suspect it is (or will be) more widely available.

Was interested in picking this up, but from what I gather there’s now two versions available - the KG cut one from the US and one from Europe, which doesn’t mention KG on the hype sticker (only says “audio from the original master tapes”)

Anyone pick this up recently and know what it likely could be? I figure I’ll tag @Plaid Room / Colemine to see if they can provide some more info.

Interesting, how is this KG cut different to the AP KG cut? Did he cut it 2 times? Both are pressed at QRP, from analog tapes, mono, but one is significantly cheaper?

If I’m not mistaken, it was the same plates. Even has the tip-on jacket. Pretty sure it was used for several presses, including the VMP and Newbury variants they did. But there seems to be one with the same UPC pressed at MPO and without the KG in the dead wax.

He has cut it multiple times. He cut one for AP at Cohearant that’s a 33 mono. That’s the current AP prestige reissue. He also cut a version for DCC with Hoffman which has been used for a lot of other reissues like the VMP one. There’s also a KG/Hoffman 45 that AP did. Then there’s another mono that’s cheaper. It has different plates so I think that one is probably different as well and the one talked about here. I’ve heard great things about it.

I believe they are all different cuts though. He probably cut them for different companies.

Pretty sure the KG one is the one that just got repressed. The craft store had it in stock and people received one with KG in the deadwax and not Hoffman.

Great Album (AAA). Been waiting forever for this to come back and doubt they stick around long. Shipping is brutal (around $9.50), but way better than paying $100+ on the secondary market. I'd grab now if you were looking for this one.

Good. Maybe they got the press all straightened back out and get to pressing stuff they haven’t yet. Everybody knows which ones we want.

Just got this in an email, if it's not on the hip hop thread yet, then @Jonathan Y I'm tasking you with this:

Freestyle Fellowship - Innercity Griots

Innercity Griots, the second album from Freestyle Fellowship, is perhaps the essential West Coast left-field rap album of the early '90s.
Released in 1993 on 4th & Broadway, it's a towering, progressive hip-hop masterpiece that expanded rap's boundaries through lyrical elevation and production innovation. Their talent was ahead of everybody else by light years. This is pure b-boy jazz. The original single vinyl LP is now hideously scarce, and of course the sound suffers from not being officially released as a double.
This Be With re-issue fixes both problems, and for completeness also includes "Pure Thought" from the CD version of the album. This incredible display of imaginative hip-hop sounds better than ever. Freestyle Fellowship were some of the earliest technically dazzling rappers to come out of California. Mikah 9, P.E.A.C.E., Aceyalone and Self Jupiter - along with DJ Kiilu - forged their famed lyrical dexterity in the ultra-competitive crucible of the Good Life Cafe.

I think it was first listed mid last year. I've had it on order but they kept pushing the release date back. I finally ordered one from jpc.de for a little cheaper because I was tired of waiting. Should be here this week. Looking forward to it.

Edit:I mean listed at other retailers, prob not at FatBeats tbc.
