Roxy Music "For Your Pleasure" (1973 Island; 1977 japanese pressing)
This album exudes sexuality, even including an ode to a blow-up doll in Every Dream Home A Heartache. The whole album is a hedonistic trip that feels like it's being guided by a lounge singer from hell. There's no overt mention of drugs, but damn... This comes from a recent foray into Japanese pressings (damn, this board). I'm extremely happy with this pressing, with quiet vinyl, tight rich bass and clean highs (so much so that I ordered 2 more Roxy Music Japanese pressings that look like they're from the same collection).

Seems like every other song on this album is about either sex or drugs.

Day 7 - Blind

The relevant song here wasn't even on the album originally, Gira held it for a solo album a few years later. Which makes sense, considering the way the songs is but I'm not sure how to describe it without laying it on too thick. But I'm so glad they put it back, it's a gorgeous song and crushing all the same.

Have to roll back into the CD collection for this one. Snoop Dogg is pretty reliable for combining sex and drugs into his songs…

Sugartime - Awestruck

I was going to play an Echo & the Bunnymen 7in here because I think all Ian’s lyrics are about sex and/or drugs. But I needed to save that for another day.

Pretty generic, sexual lyrics to an otherwise decent sounding song. Short-lived band made up of members of the Swans, Nice Strong Arm and Live Skull. Recorded by one of the go to engineers of the 90s, Wharton Tiers and released on Simple Machines.

Since this is a “greatest hits” compilation, that may be why the cover is not easily recognized. I don’t think this compilation has ever been released on vinyl - I only see a “test pressing” on Discogs.
