Day 12 - “Born Under Punches (The Heat Goes On)” The Hand speaks, the Hand of a government man.
You’re hosting Tyrion Lannister for Sunday dinner. Play something he’d like.
The Doors - Self-titled
I feel like Tyrion would appreciate “Alabama Song”. Whoring and drinking were his favorite pastimes. Oh, and there’s the whole wanting to kill your father in “The End”.
I’m still not familiar with a lot of Radiohead’s music outside of OK Computer and In Rainbows, but from a bit of research I saw that Thom Yorke is a Tom Waits fan so I just went with that.
Day 13 - “Mr. Jones” Mr. Jones is back in town, it's his lucky day. Hold up your hands and shout.
Play an album that features a contribution by someone named Jones.
Pretty much a toss-away 7in but definitely a who’s who of early 90s indie rock. Ira Kaplan/Yo La Tengo, Matt Sweeney/Chavez and indie guitar gunslinger for hire, Gary Lee Conner/Screaming Trees, and Lyle Hysen/Das Damen. I completely forgot I owned this. Also an apt pick since one of the YLT odds and sods comps is called Genius Of Love.
Day 14 - “Radio Head” Transmitter! Oh! Picking up something good. Hey, radio head! The sound...of a brand-new world.
Play an album by a band that influenced Radiohead or by a band that influenced one of those bands. Or just play something by Radiohead.
Day 15 - “Genius Of Love” And what do you consider fun? Fun, natural fun.
Play a side-project album.

Again, having to head to the CD case for this one…
Mr, Jukes - “God First”
“Jack Steadman, also known by his stage name Mr Jukes, is an English singer-songwriter, musician, and record producer best known as the vocalist and primary songwriter of the indie rock band Bombay Bicycle Club since its formation in 2005.”
“God First” was his solo side project. Honestly, the “Live At the Church” acoustic instrument versions on YouTube are better than most of the studio versions on the album. I first heard of it when Apple used the album version of “Grant Green” in a commercial.
Day 15 - “Genius Of Love” And what do you consider fun? Fun, natural fun.
Play a side-project album.
Czarface - Every Hero Needs a Villain
I’m not sure if Czarface even qualifies as a side-project, at this point. It seems Deck, 7L & Esoteric have put their solo careers on hold ever since starting the project.
Day 14 - “Radio Head”
Transmitter! Oh! Picking up something good. Hey, radio head! The sound...of a brand-new world.

Day 16 – “Happy Day”
Oh, happy day, happy day. I'll never be the same. Forever I am changed.
“Talking Heads: 77” was released 44 years ago today. Play a notable debut album.
Going with another album from 1977...

Nina Simone - Little Girl Blue
One of the most standout thing about this record is Nina’s piano playing. I don’t think she gets enough credit for her skill as a pianist.
