Soul Step Records Subscription

Can I just say how awesome Soul Step is? I ordered two records on 12/5, they shipped on 12/6 and arrived on 12/10. Both records are flat, sound amazing, and are on really cool colored vinyl. Oh yeah, they also only cost $20 each.

I’m going to try my best to support businesses such as Soul Step moving forward as opposed to buying from Amazon/VMP/Target, etc.

Shhhhh! This is our little secret! We can't create a huge demand for these beauties or we will get stuck with standard black! I mean these aren't even 180g? (newsflash 180g is overrated and I actually love standard black vinyl). All kidding aside I've had zero issues with any of the Soul Step stuff except for the perpetual hit to my wallet. Excited for the 2021 releases...

You all make me feel so great! I'm so happy to hear all those kind words.

I'll tell you this much....We'll never leave Gotta Groove. They quality and detail they put into our records are second to none! I just landed in TN and will be in a hotel until I can move into my home on Wed. That doesn't mean that the work stops!

Already got two releases slated for January - some Psych Rock & some R&B - with some plans for some other fun releases in Feb and beyond. Looking forward to getting into my new home/office and getting things started up again. You all are the absolute best. Thank you for supporting us!
 
Soul Step Records Announces SSR-070!

Soul Step Records are so excited to announce their first release in what will be an exciting and diverse 2021 release schedule with Cincinnati’s IN THE PINES! We are excited to welcome In The Pines to our label to release their latest LP, called “Slow Blink.”
In The Pines are best described as chasing a thematic junction of youth, mysticism, and psychedelia. In The Pines are crafting wide-eyed rock and roll music that aims for the heart.

“Slow Blink” is Cincinnati Neo-Psych to awaken your SOUL! In The Pines are for fans of Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Ty Segall, and Pond. “Slow Blink” is a fresh musical exploration of broad influences, which can only begin to be described as Neo-Psych. There is so much musical influence to discover on “Slow Blink.” Shades of R&B, Soul, and Garage Rock are just some of the additional sounds to peel back and uncover as you learn more and more with each listen.

In short, “Slow Blink” is a rock and roll album that has something to offer for just about anyone and will sure to be one of the best rock releases to come out of the Cincinnati scene in some time. In The Pines plan on touring behind this release later this year to support. Their live shows are not to be missed! Their energy and musicality are on display anytime they hit the stage.

Soul Step Records will be releasing In The Pines’ LP “Slow Blink” to Soul Step Subscribers on Saturday, January 2nd. The general public sale will begin on Monday, January 4th. This LP will be available to stream on your favorite service on Friday, January 1st.

Soul Step Records are back again to kick off 2021 with another release! Our next vinyl drop will be a partnership with Party Mermaid Records to release a 7” single with Late Slip featuring Nick Waterhouse. We’re so excited to welcome them to Soul Step Records with a blistering hot throwback R&B two-sider of “Strike / Reelin.”

Late Slip is the musical vehicle of Chelsea Nenni. She leads the pack with strong vocals, fuzzy guitar, and heart-on-your-sleeve songwriting. These two tracks featured on our 7” single release was produced at the hands of the multitalented Lewis Pesacov, who also worked on Best Coast’s “Crazy For You,” among many other retro-tinged recordings.

Nick Waterhouse is one of the kings of modern Soul and R&B music. He established his musical sensibilities in the middle of the burgeoning southern California Psych-Garage scene while retaining his unique perspective on the spirit of American R&B and Rock & Roll. He’s collaborated with the likes of Leon Bridges and has released many superb albums on Innovative Leisure Records.
This special 45 from Late Slip is full of fun throwback tunes that when placed on the turntable - will get the party up and dancing instantly. From the steamy and sultry “Strike” that graces the A-side all the way to the rocking and rolling up-tempo “Reelin” that is found on the B-Side. This 45 features a strong rhythm section and a soaring horn section. All of this makes this one hot 45 that you need to have in your collection.

Soul Step Records will be releasing the 45 of “Strike / Reelin” by Late Slip featuring Nick Waterhouse to Soul Step Subscribers on Saturday, January 16th.
