okay. i watched all the new stranger things NOT realizing they were doing that cut a season in half shit and i am SO MAD i didn’t realize that because i would’ve just waited. it is so hard for me to even wait a week to watch a new atlanta or barry or staircase (not like i don’t know how that ends but still) so my friend and i haven’t watched any for about 3 weeks just so we can binge some

omg also!! i forgot to mention SOUTHSIDE. it’s on hbo. anyone watch that yet? it’s so good.

also last night i watched the first 3-4eps of Shoresy on hulu, and initially i was v worried because it’s a spin-off and those don’t often go well, but by 2nd ep i was all in.

also you cannot watch Shoresy without first watching Letterkenny. you *can* but, you shouldn’t.

have you ever heard mike birbiglia’s story about d o’russel?
Not sure, is it Lily Tomlin related? Because I saw some footage of their blow out on Huckabees set.

Work people were just talking about both of these shows yesterday, I've never seen either, but they were enthusiastically describing hilarity....so I might have to check 'em out.

I finally caught up with season two of The Boys and jumped right into season three. I didn’t know it could get even more…shockingly gruesome…holy shit

Was able to finish Winning Time. What a fun and funny show! Love the production and cinematography. The use of cgi during in game action is almost unnoticeable. The overall casting was fantastic. When I was deep into basketball, the Lakers were my team. Magic’s first season was my first season watching so it had a big impact.
Looking forward to season 2.

Also finished the last 4 episodes of Barry today. That show is so smart, funny and dark. My wife even said it was too smart.
When you think the story is going to right, it digs underground and pops up behind you.

Now to get caught up on Obi Wan and probably start Stranger Things.

Has anyone watched The Baby? It looks interesting.

Barry last night. Holy moly.

That reversal was stunning. For the whole episode you're with Barry, just focused on "how will he get out of this one?", so when the cops came in I was stunned in a sense of "well shit, our guy lost." But then the close-up on Gene, followed by that shot through the window of him walking away...suddenly the emotional arc is his, and what was just moments ago framed as a catastrophic failure becomes pure emotional catharsis. It's absurd how much control this show has over its tone, characters, and themes.

also, "we haven't seen Ablert since he stormed out of here and cocked his gun in front of us" is an amazing line.

Just started Dark Winds and it seems promising so far!
AMC Networks has greenlighted Western noir thriller series Dark Winds, based on the popular Leaphorn & Chee book series by Tony Hillerman, for AMC and AMC+. Created and executive produced by Graham Roland (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan), the series stars Zahn McClarnon (Westworld), who also is an executive producer, and Kiowa Gordon (Roswell, New Mexico) as Navajo Tribal Police Officers Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee, respectively.
Executive producing the AMC Studios series are Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin, who resides in Santa Fe, NM; Robert Redford, who has produced two screen adaptations of Hilleman’s Leaphorn & Chee books, The Dark Wind and Skinwalkers; Tina Elmo (The Mustang); and Vince Gerardis (GoT). Vince Calandra (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan) is executive producer and showrunner. Chris Eyre, who directed Skinwalkers and also was the first Native American to win a DGA Award for Directorial Achievement in Children’s Programs, will direct the pilot and will also executive produce.

Watched the first episode and we really liked it.

Yeah this season as a whole was a surreal one, blending hard tones together more than before. And then this finale…incredible. I mean every season so far has ended in such a way where I think “where do they go now?” But this one that question is like bolded, in all caps. No clue how they are going to proceed, but I have faith.

I'm really liking John C Reilly in Winning Time. I took a break at the halfway point, but I'm coming back to it now. It's very well crafted.

The Baby wasn't bad. Probably could've been wrapped up a little quicker though.

I'm also just getting into All of Us Are Dead. Has anybody watched that yet? Solid zombie show.

My Covid binge TV has been Game of Thrones. I'm quite sure this is my third time through, and have watched certain episodes more. But, it's comfy, and I can nap to it if the need arises. I gotta say though, it is kind of tricky in the daytime, SO many dark scenes.
I have also noticed more Deus Ex Machina moments than I remember.

I also watched the first three episodes of Love Death + Robots. (of season 3, I thought I started on 1, oops)
Anyway, the one titled The Very Pulse of the Machine was amazing. Wow.

Seconded. I have three episodes remaining in season three, but The Very Pulse of the Machine is my favorite. It'll be in my head for some time.

Night of the Mini Dead is a good time.

This line in Pulse really got me

...or maybe it's just one more dream before dying

I'll definitely watch more of these, probably starting from the actual beginning.

You can definitely enjoy the shorts in whatever order you like. There are a good number of gems throughout. Some of my favorites from seasons one and two include All Through the House, Alternate Histories, Fish Night, Ice Age, Three Robots and Automated Customer Service.

I watched The Office S1 E1 (US version) and found Carrell so cringe. I mean, I've seen it before, and of course he's supposed to be...but it just didn't work for me. I don't think I'll do a full re-watch. I only casually once-in-awhile watched it anyway.
