Been watching The Righteous Gemstones. I remember watching like the first three eps back when it premiered, but I never followed through. Now I've watched almost the whole first season in two days. I don't think it's perfect, but it hits similar dark comedy vibes as the other Danny McBride stuff - which I enjoy.
I’ve been watching that too. It’s fine. I mean I guess I enjoy it enough cause I want to see how it ends. But certain plot points are kinda ludicrous. We started watching Based On A True Story. It’s ok. It really needs to be darker. I find Kaley Cuoco went to the Smell The Fart school of acting.
I’m on series 2 - great showI finished Succession last night and now need to look back through these pages to find the comments I initially skipped past to avoid spoilers.
The more I think about it, the more I thought the ending was great.
Just finished it. Pretty great start to the new season. Onto the next one…which has a…familiar titleFirst episode of the new season of Black Mirror was fucking hilarious.
I saved it and now I can't wait!Omg that second episode of Black Mirror was horrifying. I love this show, but this is weirdly the first episode that messed me up.
So...I'm not saying it's a carbon copy, because it goes in other places...but the launching premise of Ep01 is the South Park human centipede episode where people don't read the Apple terms and conditions from years ago.Just finished it. Tbh I didn't love the concept of not reading terms of service cause it did feel like I had seen it somewhere else. But the rest of it was great.So...I'm not saying it's a carbon copy, because it goes in other places...but the launching premise of Ep01 is the South Park human centipede episode where people don't read the Apple terms and conditions from years ago.
"So whose anus is doing the shitting?"
"Ummm...Salma Hayek's anus."
Also...is that a Charlie's Angels outfit Salma is supposed to be in? Or Kill Bill? It's an homage to something, right?
And Salma saying Com-puta for computer...it is a very quotable episode.
Oh...twist ending! I should have known, Black Mirror, and not given live impressions cause now I just took a shit in the proverbial church of this thread. Duck you, Michael Cera!
Terms and conditions was definitely low hanging fruit, but I love the message that essentially anyone is fair game to 1. Go viral in a negative light and 2. The people have always been the product. This is why social media is free. We voluntarily put our personal lives out there for the world to see and consume.Tbh I didn't love the concept of not reading terms of service cause it did feel like I had seen it somewhere else. As the saying goes, if you don't pay for it then you are the product being soldTerms and conditions was definitely low hanging fruit, but I love the message that essentially anyone is fair game to 1. Agreed. He's what my wife and I call a "bland man".PS: I'm not sure Common actually works for me as an actor in any role I've seen him in. He's a good looking guy with a great voice & charisma to burn, but something feels off about every performance I've ever seen him give. He's delivering some particularly thick slices of ham in Silo.
I am always just waiting for him to break out in bars.Agreed. He's what my wife and I call a "bland man".
This is my biggest issue. Common cannot act, other than slight variations of myself. This is tough Common, this is hangry Common, this is happy Common. If he is the big baddie, then they really poorly cast the character.PS: I'm not sure Common actually works for me as an actor in any role I've seen him in.
